They took that company years ago. I can' t believe they still owe him a lot of money. He had a heart attack a couple years ago. I can' t really see him getting into that rat race again. Maybe take it back for resale.

From what I understand, Paul Meeks did get his money from the original sale, and has been merely a spokesperson for Outland/API.

I hope he does somehow buy back API, they were a really good stand at one time!

I sent them in an inquiry months ago(before Xmas) about the new chains they sent me possibly being some of the defective ones. They said they were sending me a replacement kit. I still haven' t gotten it. When Paul owned it and you called for anything you had it in a matter of days. He didn' t look to good when I met him at the Congressional shoot a couple years ago. Maybe he' s doing better as I' ve seen him on a couple recent hunting videos. His wife seemed like a sweetheart.

I, too, would like to see Paul back at the head of the ship. I have had my API Bowhunter for 3 seasons now and have no complaints. I ordered a set of replacement chains at the same time that I bought the stand after reading some of the comments on the various archery forums. I think it might be time to order another set if the company really is not going to be carrying them anymore.

Ok here' s the real deal. My dad owns a sales rep agency and one of the sporting goods companies they represent is Outland Sports.

Outland is broke (owes everyone money) and the bank has taken complete control of the companies. Outland owns API stands, Kenco feeders, Blueridge targets, Feather Flex decoys, MAD calls, Big River calls, and Lohman calls. Some of the org. business owners had been paid off, like Kenco. However, others like Paul Meeks of API hadn' t been completly paid off. My dad asked the question of whether Meeks would get API back and he will not because the note was not written up where the business was collateral. If he wants it back, he' ll have to buy it from the bank. So that would be buying a business back that you never sold all of. That is the info my dad got from the source. Poor management is to blame for the demise.

how will this affect them as far as business? are they just cleaning out stock & that is it? Any info would be great, I hate seeing these things happen. can they restructure or is it too late?
