Default Misses: Too High, or Too Low?

Thinking only aboutdeer you've missed, tell me about your misses.

Which have you done more often: miss high (shot over the back), ormiss low (shot under the belly)?

I once missed a doe at 8 yards from the ground.. perfectly broadside and she had no idea I was there.

I shot like 3 feet over her and smack into a tree.

I was in shock at first.. but have since laughed a great deal at myself.

I haven't missed with a bow... But do have one that was unrecovered.

Me too. The unrecovered one haunts me to this day. I'd much rather miss clean. I hit it too high, above the spine.

I have missed more high.
2 reasons.
1. close shots with my 20 yd pin are going to be high.
2. deer duck down when they hear noise (bend their legs so they can jump)
It took me a while to shoot low on those close shots.

Yes I was ina treestand. A doe at 9 yards and a 7pt at 15 yards. Pitiful I know.

Its a sad story really. They both happened in the same day, the doe in the morning and the buck that evening. It involves and inexperiance boy, a POS, out of tune, falling apart bow.....and a SERIOUS case of doe/buck fever (Im talking knees clacking, sweating bullets)

It was also the first 2 times I ever shot out of a treestand.
