What would you do? To expound on the Greedy Question.
Ok
You have brought a friend/family member hunting with you. You know there is a big buck in the area. You know what stand he might be at.
Do you put your hunting partner in the best spot?
Or
Put yourself in the best spot?
For the record I have been in this situation twice. Both times I offered the spot to my dad, he declined both times. I shot a big buck both times
He states he's not declining the third time[&:]

I am unware of anyone among my friends and family who cares less about a big rack than me. So, i would give the spot to someone else.

Being Ive never killed a big buck.... honestly... they're getting the Nanny's den.
Nah, It really depends on who it is i guess, say if Matt/TNdoes get a chance to come and hunt, Im sticking him where I would wanna be that day, the best place i know, but now my buddy that i hunt with all them time.... LOL go find your own tree.

I have one "hunting buddy" and between us I do the most (90%) scouting , mapping, observing and even hunting (he uses a muzzleloader). Whenever we go to any areas I have scouted I try to put him in the best spot. I would do the same for anyone else I invited along. If I am not with him but he is going to an area I know then I give him a map that is marked along with the info about the area. I tell him the likely best spot. If my friends (or family if they hunted)are having fun then I am having fun

I have actually done both, depends on who it is. My DAD would ge the best spot I coould find, a couple of my friends also. But if you are one of my friends that dont reallytake it as serious as me and just want to go hunting A: because I killed/seen deer there B: Just want to go hunting to say you did it.. Then you arent getting my best spot...

I would and have gave the spot to someone else on a few different times and will continue to do so without even thinking twice about it. To me thats what it is all about, sharing my knowledge, otherwise it doesn't mean a thing!

In the past I've given the better stands to friends. I can't see that changing if its a one time hunt. If they start to hunt with me regularly they need to start thinking about where they are going to hang their stand!
