A lighter subject...

Being a history major/teacher I have to teach about early man and their nomadic culture. I always tell the class about the first humans in Africa and the tools/weapons they used. Very crude stuff, but effective. Fast forward several thousand years to around 25,000 yr ago and look what the Natives in the country used. Still very crude but very effective. So my question is, do any of you trad guys use you own hand made heads??? I would love to see em if you do. tell us how you make them, let us know how effective they are....

Interesting.....

I'm interested in this type stuff, too. But...since Fran got crucified for not hunting with a new, out of the box head.....I'm anxious to see how this thread is perceived.

Pics if you got 'em, guys. Kudos and good luck.

I don't use trad equipment at all, but I do have a buddy that took a nice 9 pointer a few years ago with a self bow, hand made arrows, and hand made broadhead. It was not the biggest buck in the woods, but considering the equipment used, a true trophy for sure.

MichiganWhitetails has done it with the sinew wrapped flint broad heads. I think its neat as heck! I've never done it but I wouldn't hesitate one bit If I had a big enough collection of them to try it once. I know it would work just fine, put that arrow where its suppose to be and I guarantee you will be successful! These heads are razor sharp as well if sharpened right. I can't see why anyone would frown on it.

I agree Steve, it would be awesome to see some pics of animals killed by homemade heads.

I agree Schultzy, that would be cool as all get out. Steve, I believe you could pull that off your damn self. That's the kind of confidence I have in you bro!;)Respect!

While working in my field yesterday I found a beautiful blue flint point about two inches long, the back was broken off but it was still a great find. The bad news is several hours later when I reached in my pocket to show my wife it was gone. After laying in that field for god knows how long,I simply moved it to a new location in that very field.

Whats the chances of me finding it again.[:-]
