Well, what powers the deer's life cycle. This is a question that I found myself asking today and was wanting to get your guys opinions on what and why bucks and does do what they do throught a calendar year.. I have some theories.. but I'd like to hear everyone elses.

Easy...Adaptive evolution. Millions of years of underlying genetic basis' of behavioral variation, to keep the species alive.

I base a lot of my hunting techniques and set-ups on the deer's instinct and survival: They have to eat, drink and breed to pass along their fertile seed to survive.

It's all about food. Except for rut, the quest for something to eat dominates their life. Their habits change during the year because their food sources change during the year. You find what they are eating this week and you'll find deer.
