Hard Case Recommendations
This is a spin off from the hard case/soft case debate. I'ma hard case guy, and I currently own one of the cheap Plano cases that has served me well for traveling (driving) with my bow. I go to school in NH however and live in PA, meaning there are flights inbetween here and there. I shoot for the school's archery team, but I want to hunt/practice in PA over breaks, so I need a case I can fly with.
For you hard case guys, what is a good airline approved case to look at? I've heard a bit about Vanguards and SKBs, are there any others I should look at? What features do you recommend? I'd possibly like the case to double for rifles as well by adding some more foam, but that would just be a bonus. Are there any models out there you suggest?
Thanks,
Steven

SKB and Vangaurd are about the only cases I would be willing to suggest. I have a Vanguard right now, only because the new Hoyt would not fit into my SKB. Either case is a good choice. I like the Vanguard I have now because is a really nice underside storage area for releases and other extras, but like I said, you cannot go wrong with either.

Buy yourself an SKB and thank me later!! It may seem like a steep price but IMO it is a very small price to pay when you think of the money you have invested in to your bow. Built like a tank, GREAT customer service and the $1500 insurance to me was the real selling point. Odds are nothing will ever happen to your bow but to me it was an added peace of mind knowing that if something did I wouldn't be the one shelling out another $1500 to set it up.

I just recently purchased the SKB Freedom bow case. It is supposed to be a "double" but it works perfect as a single bow case.
I strongly recommend this case.

I have a few of these for my bow and guns for when I travel. They are sturdy and tough and very well padded. When I travel I don't worry in the least about my gear! If you really want to protect your gear, this type of case is the only way to go!
