I'd say my chances are pretty fair here ....lots of winter kills being reported though...I will know a lot more by mid August. But I should get a crack at agood one or two before the season is over.

It's still too early to put a percentage on it, but I'd guess below 25%. There are certainly more P&Y class deer around, but getting one to show itself in the daylight is difficult, and even seeing them at night gets just about impossible once the jacklighters come out.

My odds are better this year than ever before due to the new property I have to hunt. However, I only have 3 years experience bowhunting and I firmly believe that will play a role. My lack of experience could be a liability. I have more to learn but I do learn more each time I get out there. I could get lucky and trip over one.

I've been hunting in GA all my life and chances are good for a 100 to 120 where I hunt. But chances that a buck will actually net 125 to qualify P&Yare not great. Sure there are plenty ofdecent bucks in GA, but in most places you will not see 'em because they are hunted to death and nocturnal.

I have hunted all over GA and I still contend the chances are slim for P&Y. The facts are 1967 through 2005 in GA there have been 450 entries in P&Y records. That tells me that everyone in GA has little or no chance for a P&Y.

In GA, chances are slim to none.

In Illinois where I hunt, very high I do believe. I've had P&Y bucks in range the last two years, just couldn't quite close the deal right so I didn't shoot. This year instead of the usual 6 day bowhunt, I'll be there (Lord willing that it) at least 15 days bowhunting.

I also plan to hunt 7 days of muzzleloader, too, but that don't count for P&Y.
there are some pretty big deer in georgia, or is just your area.

Mine are not good. We just don't have the big bucks in the area I hunt. We get a few to pass through during the rut. But for the most part the biggest buck I'm going to see will be around 115". I've had my chances in the past when I had better spots and couldn't close the deal then. I'm talking some 170" bucks. So now I'm just having fun hunting with my daughter and trying my best to make sure she will get some encounters. She is addicted to hunting. And I hope she keeps the passion as she gets older.

My new area has at least one 140" class buck on it and the JoDaviess county in NW IL is known for big bucks, but it's my first year there and I don't know the deer's patterns yet. I do have high hopes as always. Here's the sheds

I can kill a 125 class buck every year but my goal is always to take at least aMissouri Big Bucks buck that scores 140 and up. If I'm not going to mount it I don't shoot it. I'm not going to shoot it unless I think it can score that high.

Where I live in northern Mi right now my success rate is right at 33% on P&Y deer.
I lived in Kansas for 4 seasons, 2 of those seasons I could not hunt do to injurys, the other 2 seasons I taged P&Y deer. Dont want to speculate and Jinx myself, but I would say the odds are going to get better when I get moved back to Kansas this season. :D

I will probably see 3 or 4 over 125, wont shoot them unless theyre over 135 and at least 4.5. Last few years i have passed some bucks that had me wondering if i made the right choice. In kansas (if i draw) my minimum goes up to 150" for the first half of the hunt and down to 140" for the last half. See lots of big deer up there and even shot a few, just never bow hunted it yet. Hoping to kill another 200"er this year, but this time with my bow![8D];)
