Longest shot?

RE: Longest shot?
I think the shorter answers would deserve bragging rights.
My longest was a 33yd shot on one of my mounted 8-pointers. I thought the shot was 24-27yds when I took it....and it actually worked out great. I find, as each year in the woods passes, my "effective range"....or...the range I "feel" most effective.....shortens.
I'm not ahsamed of the aforementioned shot in the least (boiler room)....but I'd hesitate to make sure everything was just right if I were faced with it, again.
It's just a deer. There will be many others. I'm learning my limitations.

RE: Longest shot?
28 yards on Big Doe - quartering away shot, arrow went thru lung - heart - lung and hit front shoulder,
then broke off when she jumped and the back of the shaft must have cut the spine or something as her front legs where paralized.
Quick death non-the-same!
I found the broad head the hard way - while gutting her out - OUCH! No stitches - just a few band-aids and duct tape - I didn't cry or nothin'!
Also... 28 yards on my first Turkey

RE: Longest shot?
25 yards, been bow hunting for 9 years and only shot one buck. I can target shoot out to 60 and place all my arrows in a kill zone but i only feel comfortable out to about 30-35 when actually hunting. Passed a lot of nice deer in the 35-40 yard range because I was worried about the shot. There are too many factors that can go wrong out past that distance especially the wind in my "neck o' da woods".
