What sort of string is he getting for it?

If it was my bow I would go get it back and take it else where if you dont have the gear to do it yourself.

If you bring your own string it shouldn't take more than a day.

Once the string is there, about 20 minutes or so.

Sounds like he never ordered your string.

I've had custom compound string orders take much more then that (from people on this site).

I would say you have waited too long already. 3 weeks with no bow, how are you surviving? I think the longest I have waited was about 1 1/2 weeks for the string to come in. I normally would not leave my bow with them unless the string that was on it was just so shot that I would not trust it to shoot.
