Lmao! I hope not Magic. If I get another good sized bear like this one I think I'm going to go with a full body mount but use a different Taxidermist.

And I'm guessing 8 years ago you werent using trail cams so it was a complete suprise when this bruin showed up. Get an age on it?

Thanks Craig! I figured I had a P&Y bear hitting the bait but I had no idea it was a bear with a 20 5/16 skull, that blew me away! Actually a cousin of mine that hunted with us a few years back bought a trail camera the year after I got this bear. It was a Stealth Cam I think, cheap piece of junk that took up space! The 1st year I've used Trail cams was last year in 2007. Before that we used the old string trail timers made by Trail Timer and digital trail timers made by Leaf River. Them Leaf River digital trail timers are very nice timers, we still use them allot being these camera's are way to spendy to be owning that many.

The age of the bear according to the biologist that you send the teeth to said it was 15.5 years old. I believe it to be pretty accurate or at least in the ball park but we've sent teeth in from other bear that were so far off on the age it was pathetic. I don't believe to much on what they say when it comes to age's on animals anymore.

Thanks BowKnutt. Yes he did! He quoted me at the time 115.00 dollars a foot. Regular price would of been right around 900.00 dollars and he cut that in half. I paid $423.56 for my rug. I came out of it pretty good on that end.

Thanks bud! I haven't mounted every bear I've gotten, the 3 you see are the only ones I've got mounted. The other rug mount was my very 1st bear, he dressed out at 175lbs. The shoulder mount was my 2nd bear, she dressed out at 130lbs. I've shot 9 bear so far, its allot of fun but you work your butt off doing it being I do all my own baiting. Its well worth the work even if you don't get one. I just love doing it!!:)

The g/f came home yesterday and walked in the living room with her head down. As she looked up not knowing I got it up she damn near fell over and you know what herself! She really does like it though after she gained her composure.

i do not know where you are from but a good taxidermist is a hunters best friendand i know the best. TIMBERLINE taxidermy in vassar michigan. he does amazing work. one of the most sought after in our area.
