QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
As I am sure you all know by my many posts I finally got my bow and I was decided on a whisker biscuit but in reading many more forums and watching videos I have to say I am actually considering a QAD rest but I DO NOT want something that needs a lot of tuning and tinkering to keep it working precisely with added age and usage. I know the whisker is pretty much aput it on and forget it rest and there is a certain peace to that.

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I've never had to mess with mine. I put it on set i up about like you would a whisker biscuit attached the string to my cable and started shooting. It helped my shooting alot.. Really easy reast to set up and really a nice hunting rest... I would think it would last longer than a biscuit IMO.
|
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I replaced my biscuit with a QAD this off season. I have not had to touchthe QADin 6 months of shooting. I used to replace the biscuit whiskers every year. The QAD is quieter on the draw and might be more accurate but it is too close too tell. The QAD alsohas a lot more moving pieces than the biscuit.
The irrefutable argument for the biscuit is that it so nut-smackin' simple. There is really nothing to go wrong. The arrow & rest arealways ready. As a hunting rest, the biscuit is as good as any (IMO). I hope I don't contribute to this becoming another WB/drop away thread... |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I have used, sold, and installed most of the drop aways out there, and for simplicity of installation, zero timing issues, or resulting fletch clearance.
I recommend the Limb Driver hands down. Dan |

I am still confused, not familiar with limb driver. drop away?

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
Ive had two on two bows and not much to do to it. I like it and find it simple, however, I do seem to have some bounce back possibly from this latest one, I see a little bit of browm on the bottom of from fletching, just a smuge, I don't know for sure, but it doesn't seem to be messing up my accuracy. I will tell ya how it works out when I shoot broad heads.

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
vabo are you talking the limb driver?
And does that limb driver string attatch to your uppel limb, is there alot of string hanging out there? I tried to watch the install video but their connection is down. |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
no tg78, the QAD is what Im talking.
|
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
The string attaches to the top limb. There is maybe 16 inches of string hanging there. It doesn't get in the way.

Hey, I just bought a QAD Ultra today. . . .so please don't say anything that's gonna freak me out and give me buyers remorse!! [8D]

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
you shouldn't here too much bad about them, I like them, I have the QAD pro hunter it is the one that they said will have bounce back when shot, I don't , i might have some and If I do, I don't know how to fix it??

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I've had a QAD since I took the WB off my SB. I have never had to do anything to it once it was set up, properly (and I mean the initial setup.
I also owned a Limbdriver. Not even close to the QAD. No full containment. I'm not even sure why it's in this conversation given the thread title. |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I haven't had to ajust a thing on my sons bow. The QAD rest is a great rest
|
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I have never touched my QAD's after getting them set, and I have two of them. The only thing I've ever done is put a new cover on the fork.

ORIGINAL: TG78 I am still confused, not familiar with limb driver. drop away? The way mine is setup you have to turn the bow upside down to dump the arrow. The QAD is a nice dropaway but the Limb Driver setup is day in day out more consistent. No Question about it!:D I sell them all but my choice is the Limb Driver. Hands Down!! Dan ![]() |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
Hey Dan, do you sell that launcher that is on your bow? Or what ever that shelf rest is? It looks like what i used to have with my trophy ridge dropzone.

No Question about it!:D The QAD....I lock it into the upright position when I get on stand. My arrow is fully contained. Other than the Ripcord (which is very similar) OR the WB (which I went away from due to noise issues with the arrow I was using).....I don't think it has a competitor. It (QAD) may not have a corporate partnership with a major bow company like some of the others, but it's performed flawlessly for too many people (and again....I've owned both, very recently) to get statements like the above stated about it.;) |

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
I'm a little curious about that comment too, on holding the bow upside down for arrow to fall out on the Limb Driver. Its not a containment drop away from pics I've seen. Nor does it keep the arrow off the shelf until you draw.
I've had the QAD for 2 full seasons. I haven't had to touch it 1x from initial setup. The rest is flawless. It totally contains the arrow, it can't fall off the rest. Once put in ready position the arrow remains off the shelf, and less movement of the arrow compared to alot of the drop aways. I don't know much about the Limb Driver. But the QAD does it all. How can you ask for anything better than that!! |

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
do any of you have a slight clicking noise when you draw back coming from the rest??? I think mine has a clicking noise on the initial first draw and then I don't notice it, I assume it's coming from the QAD rest locking into place, even though I always shoot with it holding the arrow up anyway.

I agree with the others on the QAD. I have set it up and tuned it, which took all of about 5 minutes, and I've checked it since and haven't had to touch it. It's kind of annoying because I like to tinker and since I don't have to touch it I have to find something else on my bow to mess with.;) I'm not even sure why it's in this conversation given the thread title. |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
Va, you should have no clicking sound with this the QAD. I also can help you get rid of those brown marks on your fletching you were talking about. I know the fix. PM me

I don't own a QAD but my buddy does and for the last two years since he's had it he hasn't had to mess with it at all. It seems like a pretty good rest and I wouldn't mind puttingone on my backup bow to give it a whirl. I won't give up my W/B for my hunting bow, but I like what I've seen from the QAD so far. |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
Big John, You best stick with the WB![8D]
As far as me mentioning the Limb Driver please accept my humble apology. I was trying to recommend the best drop away out there, which the Limb Driver is IMHO that based on experience gained from setting up 100's of drop aways of severaldifferent types, but if you like full containment then the QAD is one option;) Dan |

I guess that's one way of saying...."I'm full of ****....and sorry for throwing my .02 in where it didn't belong".....lol.

RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
No Dan.....Here's the skinny....
EVERY time someone mentionsANY other rest besides the Limbdriver.....you come into those threads and spout off about which is the best (whether the one you wanna talk about is mentioned or not). The fact of the matter is....you're on staff with Bowtech (which...if no one knew....gets you limbdrivers for free or at a VERY reduced price). You comments on that rest had NO BUSINESS in this thread. Period. Your comments come off as bought and paid for bull****. Period. |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
hey, you can learn a lot about a bull by sticking your head up his ass, but wouldn't you rather take your butcher's word for it?......Dan, LMAO!!!!

ORIGINAL: BigJ71 ORIGINAL: MeanV2 You are not Full of **** Jeff just inexperienced and always looking for the connection Theory!![8D] I have two QAD's and have had no problems. Admittedly it is the first dropaway I've tried, but I have no reason to try others. Once setup, I do ZERO tinkering. |

Your continualbought and Paid for comments aimed at me for the most part of this year are Hilarious. I'm a dealer Dude;)I can useany Friggin rest I want to use, and have used most of them on my personal Bows. $5 one way or the other does not mean Squat to me. When I recommend an item it's because I have seen it work better in most situations day in day outthan the otheroptions out there. I had some interesting conversations with the techs at QAD about a year ago. I wish I could share them with you. There are a lot of Good rests out there, and when a QAD works as advertised they are OK, but honestly as far as full containment drop aways I see fewer issues with the Ripcord. My opinion is just that, take it or leave it, but I didn't form my opinions from fooling with just a couple of rests:eek: I have never Nor will I ever be Bought & Paid for. Not even onthe Bows I shoot. I shoot what I want because I want to and Ican afford to;) Hate to Bust your Big bought and paid for theory but it doesn't hold any water. I forgot you've Bowhunted a couple of years I guess you are experienced. Dan |
RE: QAD users How often do you tinker, Honestly
What does how long I've been bowhunting have to do with you throwing your .02 in where it didn't belong? I fail to see the correlation OR a point.
And you didn't refute what I said, did you...;)? Nope....you just spun it. Keep on digging your own hole. No need for anyone to try and make you look like a dumb ass.....when you're doing sucha fine job all on your own. I'm sure Bowtech's proud of you and the relationships you're building here and over on AT. Oh.....sorry.....[&:]:D |
