I don't have the ability to use any game cams because I hunt on a military base. Just alot of scouting and glassing. One of my goals is to have a good buck within range within the first 5 days of bow season. I know it is a long shot, but I killed a 7 point the first week of October a few years ago, so I think I can do it again if I work hard enough.

I don't have any pics yet of the guys I'll be after. Plus if I do get some I won't be posting them. Around here, anything worth chasing is best kept to yourself. They have to avoid the jacklighters already, so I certainly don't want to be drawing attention to them.

Well, I hope a few of these guys made it through the gun seasons and the winter. I'll know soon enough if they did. I'd love to see the 13 pointer in the first 2 pics with the big sticket out the left side. The typical 10 point in the 3rd pic should be a real nice buck this year also. I have a pics of a few more bucks I hope are still around at home I'll try and post later.

Yeah DT he has split brows and one sticker, Im really hoping to get some trail cam pics of him soon. I have a few other bucks from last season that I hope are still around like this nice 8pt, hes just about a perfect 8pt as Ive ever killed. This year if hes still around Im curious to see how many inches he gained.

And youre right about the winters being mild when comparing to other states.

Early in, it is nice now, but its taken 10 years on some of the properties to see quality bucksevery season.

i had 2 encounters bowhunting last year, in southeast missouri on a awesome buck. he looked like he was at least a 4.5 year old, but one side of his rack is just a spike (didnt look to be broken off in the time i watched him). if he had matching sides, he looked like he would go about 130-140 range.

i can't afford a cam and i don't spend enough time on my property to target specific deer. once i get my own place i'll actually put in the time it requires

AcoupleI saw the last twoweeks of season, one of which I have some nice video of,I will try to find again this summer, if I dont, I will find a couple or moreto target.
