Is that the only 2 months you can hunt in MO.? [&:]
Well in Sept. it is still pretty hot,the mosquito's are the size of Humming Birds...the leaves are still on the tree's and it is hard to see very far in the woods.I was choose October over Sept. in a heart beat, but Nov. would be the best time to Bow Hunt because of the Rut and you would have a better chance of getting a nice Buck!!

Definitely late October if it were my choice. Unless you have your own property and scout it regularly and know where the deer are I would forget september. October the bucks start moving pretty well and your chance of getting a buck is probably higher. I have fall break in late october every year for school and I have killed a deer the past 3 years on it. Good luck!

I hunt exclusively NW Mo and would echo the comments. Sept. is very hot, lots of mosquitos, leaves are on the trees and crops are still in the field. I wait every year until late Oct to get in the stand. It kills me to wait that long especially when I get on here and see the guys havea nice doe or buck down but I think its my best opportunity for success.

Unless you are talking the last 4 or 5 days of Oct, I would pick the first week of the seasonif it were me.

My best day afield last year was Opening Day. Six buck sightings that morning, all shooters. We did get lucky last year as far as temps go, it is normally too hot to hunt much besides the first and last couple hours of daylight in Sept.
Of course the first week of October last year brought 80+ temps also!
