Would you rather?

see your team win a championship or kill a deer. Im not talking about a big buck, Im talking about a doe. Would you give up a doe to see your team win a championship, Superbowl, Stanley Cup, NBA title, World Series, National Championship etc..., I would in a heart beat! Cowboys win their 6th superbowl!! oh yeh I would!!

RE: Would you rather?

No. I put my own personal success way ahead of the success of any professional team I cheer for. Plus, the Bengals and Reds both suck hard enough to get a golf ball through a garden hose:D

No! My personal accomplishments mean much more to me than that of any sports team!

Huntingson, I have a small connection to the Bengals. My 1st cousin who teaches with me at the same school was Rudi Johnson's full back in high scholl for 4 yrs. We all went to the same High school, Thomas Dale High, I was 4 yrs a head of them, but they graduated together in 98. ESPN did a special on Rudi and my cuz was on it several times, they talk about twice a year, it was amazing watching those two in high school. Rudi was just sick.

vabowman is a Cowboys fan????? I would kill the deer, they can have their chance next year. I have had too many passed (missed)opportunities to let one go that is on my list!!!!!

txbowhunter, I have been a Cowboys fan since I could say Danny White, about 28 yrs now!! I know they make some bad decisions in players, but I love em!!

You heard it here first... The Bengals are going 6-10 this year. Rudi tap dances behind the line too much. RUN LIKE A MAN RUDI!!!! God I hate them yet I can't stop rooting for them;)

If "My" team is my son's High School team, I'd give up a whole season.

If your referring to a bunch of professionals, I could care less and would prefer to hunt over even watching them.

Not that I don't follow some professional sports(football andbaseball),but I certainly don't wrap any passion or emotion to what they accomplish. I'll just catch the highlights on ESPN after the hunt.

Yeh, he was very hard to tackle in high school and then he went to jr college and beefed up and started running over people and then he got to the NFL and beefed up more and lost his speed, but I don't know why he has been doing that. he needs to do this again!!

There are about 120 days each year that I can go kill a doe. Yeah, I would skip one of those to watch the Cards win the series. During the rut? Then probably not.

A couple years ago when they won, it was the day before our youth season. Me and the kids waited till the final out before leaving the house for our 4 hour drive. I didn't get any sleep, but they slept just fine the whole drive up and the couple hours before it was time to head out.

Well apparently none of you guys are Chiefs, Royals, and Missouri fans. I would much rather see my teams finally win the big one than get a deer. Without a doubt.

My team won the Super Bowl last year so I guess I'll be taking that doe.!!

I would not pass up on a doe for that. I don't really watch sports anyways...[8D]

I would go deer-less for a year to see the Packers win it all again :D

I'd give 2 does for the Pens to bring home the cup.

I love my team (go, Steelers!!), but I would rather eat venison while watching any team in the Superbowl than watch the Steelers with an empty freezer. Besides, my wifeLOVES venison. Shecouldn't care less about football.

Siman08, I got a friend that used to play for the Pack, he and I went to school together and i talked to him in the grocery store about 3 weeks ago, he is retired now and he is building a house about 3 miles from me, ever heard of William Henderson?? He is a great person I have had many long conversations with him at the gym here at home throughout his carrer and he now is going to live here in Chester ,Va , coming back home for good. His house is huge!!!! right on the river.

Siman08/OH 05-29-2008 11:16 AM

RE: Would you rather?

Of course i know William Henderson, he played 12 season with the Pack and was on the Super Bowl winning team. Im jealous :D

I actually have a connection to the NFL too. My aunt is married to the dad of former New England Patriot Brian Holloway. He played in the 80's. He's best friends with "The Fridge", and i have a signed football from them. Brian's son, David, is a Linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals right now, and he graduated from Maryland last year.

I love watching sports etc.. but without DVR I would watch very little, I'd much rather be hunting... and yes I'd much rather fill my freezer that have my team win the title.. call me selfish.. ;)but elk meat is just too good..

RE: Would you rather?

that's cool man!! We have always called William by his nick name....."boogie" b/c he could dance well in middle school. We have actually had 4 guys go to the NFL from my high school. Henderson, Rudi Johnson, Richy Hall and Ken Oxindine both from VT. Ken and I keep in touch over myspace, we graduated together I have known him for over 20 yrs. great guy. He played a few yrs at the Falcons. Ricky Hall played for the Niners for a bit.

University of Kansas Jayhawks Basketball (Alumni): National Champs in 2008!!!! I would have given up a 165+ for this!

Chicago Cubs (Chicago areaborn and raised): World Series 08? Id give up the Hansen buckplus and his older 210+ for one of these!!!:D:D:D

Hell no, my Steelers do fine without me and why would I give up something so passionate as tagging a gorgeous buck to let some other yahoos I don't know personally win a superbowl or whatever. They don't mean that much to me.

Give up a doe for a Stanley Cup for the Pens, another Lombardi Trophy for the Steelers, or a National Championship for the Nittany Lions? Hell Yeah!!!

I shoot enough deer every year that it's worth it to give up one to feel the thrill of seeing my team hoist the trophy.

Vabowman 05-29-2008 03:38 PM

RE: Would you rather?

Huntingbry I agree, I mean I kill lots of deer every year and have for many years, a doe I would give up to see the Boys win a superbowl or the Celtics win this Championship. I think the Pens are gonna do it anyway!!! And the Cubs will not win a world series, the Braves will be back!!!! Rob I said doe not a nice buck, that's different. Oh yeh and.......do you remember 1996 superbowl?? "Odonell throws his second interception of the game.....""" how sweet it is !!!
