To me a button buck doesn't count as a racked animal or a (buck) so I won't use that one. My first buck was a 7 point. I didn't care what size he was or was i targeting a specific buck. The first chance I got at one was going to get my arrow. He gave me a 17 yard shot. I hit him a little far back in the guts. We let him go that night and the next morning we found him right away. He dressed out at 145lbs.

I was 16 years old I think back in 1991. Like my Tree bark Greg??


Here he is on the wall. The mount still looks just as good as it did the 1st day I got it back.

First bow buck was in 97', it was hot (Texas) and I almost didn't take to the stand b/c of the heat. He stepped out 10 minutes after getting in the stand and it took forever for me to get the shot (10-12 minutes)
He went about 25 yards and fell in ankle deep water, now he is not a record buck but he had the biggest body I have seen on a deer there, He weighed 200+ and the taxi aged him at 7.5.....I had a hard time getting him loaded by myself...I have some field pic's that show his body size but they are 35mm, this is all I have in digital form...

My first buck was a spike in Allegheny county, long before the antler restrictions, I shot it with my first overdraw bow ,it was a pse mack 2 .

Haha Greg, I love the "brief' answer!! I shot my first racked buck when I was 16 back in 1880, yikes Im getting old. I was hunting a hardwoods creek botton, was like a dream, he came walking down a trail at 7AM ish around Nov 20th or so, shot him, he ran about 15 yards and rolled over down into the creek. I sat there thinking what just happened?? I'll have to get a picture of it and scan it.

i was 10 years old shot a 5 pt. with a .357 rifle. first shot i shot his man hood off! then he let me shoot at him 6 more times then ran 3 miles before we got him!!!!
