My education, hands down! .. whichhas translated to " Free Time" ... the amount of time my job affords me to scout and prepare, not to mention spend timewith my wife (she teaches too)and children.

Hands down the best for me is my Lone Wolf Alpha with climbing sticks! My Predator camo is right up there. I'm hoping after this season a new Thermacell will be on the list!!!!:)

To echo Shed's line of thinking, starting my own business. My business partner and I work some very long hours at times, but we also get to hunt and fish with quite a bit of freedom.

Computer.

This is the only purchase I ever made that DIRECTLY resulted in me getting a deer that I wouldn't have otherwise gotten.

I can look over aerials of neighborhoods and select parcels that look like solid hunting spots, with favorable stand sites. Then, a few clicks more away, I can access the plat maps and find the landowner's name, address and phone number. I pull up the deed and get the names of the grantees. Then, when I show up, I actually have a little info to go on, and that helps.

If I want to plan an out-of-state hunt, I can find land, buy licenses and map out my driving route, without ever picking up the phone or getting myself lost.

In addition to all that, you can use your computer to meetother hunting-obsessed individualson Huntingnet. Awesome!

Compass is my #1. A good pair of boots when going out west in the mountains. Bad boots means very rough and torturing times going up and down them mountains!!

Time. Doing some work for a few folks that got me access to new land this year. For the first time since I took up bowhunting I won't be paying lease fees.

I agree. Close second is my range finder, and third is the grunt call that I have had for fifteen years that still can turn bucks around during the rut.

I have spent a lot of money over the years on hunting equipment, most of which I consider good investments, but if I had to chose one I would say my summit climber. I hunt public land and my climber is a must. I hunt almost exclusively out of it, its more comfortable than my hang-ons, and I have shot more deer out of it than any other type of stand.

This one is easy, Gametamer stands (provide all day comfort) and my doublebull (works great where there are no big trees)....

I am going to have to say my game cameras. I haven't bought any really expensive ones, but just knowing what kind of animals are in the area sure goes a long way when trying to spend the extra few hours in the stand and keep your confidence up.

I forgot my GPS I love it.It makes finding my way to my stands in the dark easy and it gives me tons more info on weather and moon phase/sunrise sunset tables.Marking potential hunting spots during preseason scouting and then checking them to aerial views when you get home is priceless.
