Fun for me is having a relaxed attitude. Not feeling like its some high stakes competition.... Sleep in if I want to, get down early if I want to. Fun is finding a new area and being right as to where the deer will come from, etc...
Fun is saying the hell with scent control, just play the wind and take my chances....
Fun is sitting 20ft up a tree with stickbow in hand.
Fun is taking my kids squirrel hunting even though its perfect deer hunting weather....
Fun is what you make it..

The challenge, lots of hard work makes the reward that much sweeter. Every thing I do is a competition, I may be in the wrong but when my adrenalin is pumping, I'm having fun.

Fun ishaving no pressure put on yourself. Having no expected goals and letting things unfold as they may. Being OKwith whatever decision you decide make (such as where to hunt, when to draw, etc, etc) whether it unfolds successful or not.

Is it beyond the realm of possibility that what might be "fun" for one person.....could be construed as "hectic"....."work".....etc... to the next hunter?

This weekend, I went to Balt Trad Classic. Bryon Ferg did his trick shooting thing, and a kid named Chris who was 12 year old came after him to try to do the same shots. Kid was good with his longbow. Already sponsored by gold tip and others. He came over and harrassed me constantly on the bow I was building. You got to love kids honesty. He told me his practice routine which was brutral. What I got out of it, was he loved hearing the clapping and praise, but would rather sit down and start whittling out wood. As amazed as I was to hisshooting, he was more amazed at the flint heads beingknapped out and the bows being built.

My favorite part ofthe hunt iswhen you stop paying attention for a minute and then look up and theres a deer out in front of you. Then your heart starts pounding and you get all excited
