do you protect your spots
 

I have a few spots that I like to keep secret but at the same time if the right person is hunting with me I will let him/her in my best spot - It is not all about the trophys but the time spent together - hunting is becoming to much of a competition today in my opinion

I am in a bowhunting only club about half the members don't care if others hunt theirstands and some will argue to death that it isn't right

How do feel bout it

I have a couple spots that I do not tell anyone.The main reason is that Ijust do not want alot of traffic in the area.

To be veryhonest about it, I'm secretive about my bowhunting. I go back to my spots by myself almost exclusively. Just the way I am.;)

Me, my brother and Gri22ly share spots, careful not to burn them out. We always make sure to keep atleast one or two 'hot spots' fresh. As far as anyone else, I lie my pants off about where we hunt and what we see. People around here will screw your eyeballs out if you let on your on to a good deer.

I have no problem helping people out that are new to an area or just asking what or if I'm having any luck! The guys I hunt with we share the spots and what we see. There was one of our friends that would claim a spot as his and wanted NO one hunting there except him or someone he brought with him, needless to say we no longer hunt with him!;) The family, well were family so we hunt and share all things with hunting, there would be no other way! I like to see everyone be successful!

There are spots in Michigan that are sacred to me...and there are members on this forum that I would give the opportunity to...even on opening day.....I give my secrets to my close friends....and when its just me....I creap into the woods before all of my drunk hunting partners.....when the statistics add up...I sometimes receive a trophy for my extra efforts.....but I do give away my hot spots to my friends....but I'm usually over their shoulder with a video cam..[8D]

The way I was raised you didn't even talk about hunting or traping spots.My dad was a trapper,and man everthing was top secret.He hated to be seen by anyone while out running the line.I would guess it was to protect his line from theives.I think some rubbed off on me.I only tell a select few whereand what I've seen.I didn't even want my kids talking about where we hunted.

i keep most of my spots secret unless its somebody i know and trust and has the same hunting characteristics as me meaning they are scent cautious, and will only kill mature deer and will not tell anybody about the spot
