I don't think that purchasing hunting gear on ebay is any different then anything else you can purchase. The biggest thing is to do your homework in regards to the seller and his reputation. You can definetly find some good deals if you are willing to look.

I definately check it out before I buy anything. I have bought both hunting and boating gear on there and have no complaints.

I bought my new bow on there last December, also picked up a couple packs of broadheadsthat were a great deal. Got what I thought was a good deal on a couple sights, unfortunately they didn't fit my new bow.

I bought a new Vectrix XL on there for $430 a couple months back. Very smooth transaction. Used Pay Pal as an intermediary for payment. I'm selling some stuff onthere, though, and Pay Pal keeps your money forever when your'e new to this anddon't have a track record. You will find a lot of shops trying to unload their inventory on e-bay - and some of these are real good deals. No warranty on bows, of course, when purchased through e-bay.

I've used Ebay for years and the negative experiences have been very few and far between. The positive far outweigh the negatives. As the others said only buy from people with positive feedback and try to communicate with them before buying to see how quickly they respond.

I've bought stuff, you should be careful and check it out first....though those scammers are good, and it can be hard to tell real from fake.....if anything smells like a rat, RUN! and don't think twice/look back.

I do quite a bit on ebay... normally accessories, clothes, etc. Never anything too large.

I sell a ton of salvage snowmobile parts and Arrows/Archery Accessories. As a seller 98% of the buyers are great people, just happy to spend thier money and get a good deal, But you always have those few people... I feel that selling on eBay is getting very expensive, up to 10-12% of the sale when you use pay pal to accept payment. Buying is great at times, I have purchased broadheads cheaper than what I can buy them from the distributor, but onthe other hand I have sold Used Sled parts for as much or more than what they would sell for at the dealer?!

Ebay doesn't serve gun owners. One day you may find they won't support your bow interests.

Don't support Ebay.

Part of the reason is probably all the legal stuff you have to go through to own a gun. It is to confusing to do it over the internet and have it shiped to an FFL dealer..........

just my take on it.....

Look at what all is involved in selling a gun, Ebay probably doesnt what to bother with it, thats why they have Gunbroker.com a site mainly for the sale of guns and accesories.

I use ebay as well and have found several good deals on there. I recently purchased a pair of redball waders off of ebay for 30.00 - they would have been 100.00 else where. however, ive learned that by the time you figure shipping costs, it is sometimes better to go buy it new from a retail store.
