Default Bear by my house!!!!!

I absolutely can't believe it!! A bear was spotted by my mail man 1/8 of a mile from my house. Never to my knowledge has there ever been a bear spotted where I live. 10 years or so ago a few bear tracks have been seen but never an actual bear has been seen. I'm located in Central Minnesota, bear are normally 2 hours north of here. The main population is about 3+ hours north. He looks to be in that 180lb range right now, by fall he should be around 240lbs I bet. I took some pictures of the bear, I was directly underneath the tree he is in.

Wow that's awesome. He's just laying in the tree comfortable as can be. Did he climb down at all or get scared?

At my parents house in central Wisconsin we have a number of bears there. They come to our bird feeders at night at we get some on tape. Very neat. I once had one crawl halfway up my tree I was sitting in while bowhunting. I was kinda worried but he ran off!!

Nope, he stayed right up in the tree. As I was leaving the local paper was showing up to take some pics.

Actually it don't bother me none at all. I've been bear hunting in Northern Minnesota for many years so all in all I think its neat as heck. I wish we had more bear around here! It would save me lots of money on gas instead of making the 4.5 hour trip up north 5 times a year in the fall.
