RE: 2008 dream season...
Dreaming about the season….being a little slow at work thru this winter, I’ve got things so detailed & envisioned it’s scary.
Well first off, my initial dream didn’t pan out when I missed a nice longbeard with my longbow a few weeks back. However, if I were to pop a couple birds with the 870 before time expires I’ll be happy. If I may, I’ll toss in some fishing dreams to have decent success fly fishing for trout, and landing a few 20” smallmouths would certainly make my summer. On to the fall…..and arrowing a herd bull in Idaho in September with my longbow. Preferably early in the trip so I can enjoy as many other activities as I can. Whether it’s fishing, hunting other critters, or jumping behind the camera to film an Idaho slammer whitetail fall to one of HNI’s resident big buck killer’s arrow. :D Retuning east to fill 5 doe tags with my bow, a 150” PA buck & heck lets make it another 150” buck from Ohio. Kill all my PA deer with my longbow, and the Ohio buck with my Ally. Then lastly fill one remaining doe tag with my 44 mag during our gun season. While I am at it, drill a fall bird with my bow during the overlapped season. At any time during any days afield a chance to take out a coyote is always welcomed. Then finally to have my Dad commit enough effort for one season so that I can set him up with a chance at a nice 100”+ buck with his bow. Realistically I will probably not get anywhere close to this scenerio. Getting a bull elk regardless of size would make my season 10x over. So we'll just hope for that. AndmyDad will get excited about the upcoming season but probably only hunt 2-3 times as long as the weather isn’t too hot, too cold, too windy, has rain of any level, too sunny, too cloudy or he’s in the mood to go fishing instead. ;) |
RE: 2008 dream season...
To kill another 200 inch buck, but realistically shoota whitetailover 160" or a mule deer over 180 in kansas this season (If i get drawn..)

RE: 2008 dream season...
I guess if I thought about it, I'd like to do the PA slam. I've already got the longbeard, so if I can get a big buck to cooperate and get a bear I'll be good to go. I just found out we may have an opportunity to do some early season bear hunting in Maine, so I'm pretty fired up about that. It may cut into my plans to hunt OH, but we'll see. It's shaping up to be a fun year so far.

RE: 2008 dream season...
First off would be to tag the droptine buck spotted on our property last season, second would be one of the two 180's that were spotted together not far away on another piece I hunted last year.

RE: 2008 dream season...
Well I would like to shoot the white deer we saw shed hunting! And I would like to shoot a buck bigger than any to date! Which is like a 100" 8point. I almost forgot I would like to get a few HNI'ers to my locations and get them some success. I look to hunt deer this year with(Rob/ PaBoywer, Bowtechben, and Matt/pa)

RE: 2008 dream season...
Dream season would be to get out of work and live in a tree for 2-3 weeks, end of October beginning of November
Don't care if I shoot a deer,be niceto see one or two........but to be out in the woods that time of the year.......hoo-boy, makes my heart race sitting here right now, the smells, the sounds, the feeling of being out there..... If that isnt possible, I really want to get out filming this summer with the oldest boy and see if he will sit in a groundblind for a couple hours quietly.....he is 2 1/2, that would be pretty cool for the season also...... |
RE: 2008 dream season...
I would like a 3.5 year old with my bow. It sounds funny, but if given the choice, I would much rather have anyone of 3 or 4 other guys that I have got into archery in the last two years shoot a deer with their bow. I really think that you have not lived until you have experienced this as a hunter. I know I am preaching to the choir here.[8D]
