Default Pass through double long shot- Expiration Time!

I think this will be a good post...

On a pass through double lung shot I say

7-10 seconds deer is dead....(My estimation from 76 bow kills in 22 years)

Please....we do not need to specify whether or not the deer was on the inhale or exhale stroke...I knowhow you rocket scientists can be...[8D]

There are several factors that can come into play here. The biggest being whether or not the deer was frightened when the shot was fired. If it was, the adrenaline from a scared deer will take it a lot longer and wont expire as quickly.

I have shot three that that WALKED under 20 yards and then fell, all three never made it more than 15-30 seconds from what I remember but I didn't have a timer They never seemed to realize they were shot. All were true double lung shots

I voted 7-10 seconds, but I have had a fair amount last up to 14-15 seconds.(maybe 35 out of roughly 120 true double lungers)

The ones that seem to last the longest on me are the ones that don`t take off like a top fuel dragster at the shot.

I voted 10-20sec,but all animals are not equal.I believe the larger deer will be in this area if not longer.IMO
