RE: theory of mine...opinions?
Rory this buck went 250 yds with very little blood.I was sick as he!! thinking all was lost. You can see the entrance on the near shoulder and no exit.Just one reason I like to see a passthrough.

I prefer a pass thru . I shot one last year just like you said slight quartering and stuck the back leg. I could not believe how far she went maybe 130 yards . double lung but i think the arrow sticking in her helped plug the hole. i want two holesto let the blood out

I don't want my arrow stuck in the deer. I also don't care for quartered away shots. I've had a 13 yd quartered away shot, from 15 ft up & breaking the opposite shoulder & have NO blood trail and a still alive buck 2.5 hrs after the hit. [&:]
broadside & 2 holes every day if its my choice.

The points made already are good ones, and there is another. Unless you are shooting a two blade BH not much is accomplished by remaining in the animal. Think about pushing a 3 or 4 blade sideways against something-you are always pushing against the flat side of the other blades. Also, the arrow staying in the deer will create more pain - making the deer run harder, and farther, than it normally would. Deer with arrows in them take a loong time to slow and stop as a general rule.

Double lung pass through broadside is your best shot hands down. You get two holes and the biggest target allowing for more room for error. Also any deer double lunged will bleed alot and not go far. It doesn't matter if you have an arrow still in the animal, piercing both lungs and having two holes for the blood to leave you a trail is always best. WCL

Specially if you shoot from an elevated position. With a high hit the blood has to fill up the whole chest cavity, and not much blood to follow early on.If it passes thru you get a low exit hole and buckets of blood to follow.
