I know alot of you don't shoot groups, but Ive been shooting alotrecently and have been getting kind of frustrated. Just seems like I can'tquite get my shots tight enough with my broadheads. I've only been shooting fora couple of months so I don't know if it's just inexperience, or if the broadheads just don't group very tight.

But It was making me wonder, if YOU were to shoot groups with broadheads, what would they be at like say 25, 35, and 45?

I'm not a great shot...but putting it in the right spot in the woods is what counts...

I shoot a short Hoyt bowwith carbons and produce the following...I'm not a 3D shooter all year...just a normal Joe with enough time to throw 100 arrows before the season...

25 yards - hitting arrows and producing about 2.5 - 3 inch groups

35 yards - 3.5 - 4 inch groups

40 yards...a 5.5 inch group with 5 arrows

Remember...its what you do when the animal is in front of you....if you bear down and have some animals under your belt you will consistently take animals being a decent shot....even if you're not a full time 3D guy...its how you handle yourself in the woods that counts...only my opinion...

I expect to shoot these groups on a daily basis:

20 yards - Arrows touching
30 Yards - 1.5"
40 Yards - 2-3"
50 Yards - 3-4"
60 Yards - 6"

This is when I'm in my regular shooting regimen of 4-5 days a week at least. I got to a point where I didn't feel I could get any better and decided to go to a .010 pin and that really helped me a lot.

I like these groups... 37 yard turkey (Dubbya and Buckeye... Buckeye was a little high and right )

Yeah, Ive clipped off a couple vanes with the second shot, but it seems like I can't ever get that third shot in there.

Is itnormal for broadheadsto not want to group real tight?

I mean Im going ahead and attempting to shoot groups with them right now just for the simple fact that I want to see my groups shrink.

Thanks for the help. I guess it's just going to take time. Its just frustrating because like I mentioned, Ive shaved a couple vanes off andbusted a couple arrows, but it seems like I just can't do it consistently with every shot just yet.

You probably can't get that third shot in as close because you don't want to clip any more vanes!lol

With broadheads or fieldpoints or both? Ive been shooting broadheads right now and thats what's aggravating me!

LOL, Id like to think thats the reason. I mean I'll usually get a few close but then 1 or 2 (depending on how many I shoot) are like 4, 5,or 6 inches away from the others. So I don't know if Im doing something wrong or it's just not having shot much...
