Talking about what you don't miss...... riding out a hurricanein 50-60 foot seas on a 438 foot Knox class frigate. That comes to mind.

Currently my son is in the USAF and just re-up'd for another 4 years...when I asked him why he didn't get out after his first 6 years, he said "The job is finished over there and why quit now". God bless those who serve so others maybe free.

US Navy 5 years 1959-63 3rd class Corpsman
Naval Hospital-Camp LeJuene 3 years
2nd Bat, 7th Marines, Pendalton 1 1/2 years
Been on a few ships but just with my outfits going from one place to another.
3 years Army reserves after Navy active duty discharge.
Brother-Army 2 years & all his time was in Nam.
Brother-Chief, retired after 20 US Navy
Naval Hospital-Camp LeJuene 3 years
2nd Bat, 7th Marines, Pendalton 1 1/2 years
