ORIGINAL: Ed McDonald Ist Bat 2nd Mar 2nd Marine Division -- 1959-1963 . Never saw combat . The closest was being aboard ship , ready to go into Cuba ( or Cuber , as President Kennedy called it ) during the Cuban Missile Crisis . Got out before Viet Nam got started ......... Made two Mediterrian Cruises and did some training in Vieques , Puerto Rico . |

Currently sitting at 18 years in the Navy. Did my first 3 years onboard USS Casimir Pulaski (SSBN 633B), got smart and went underwater the other way. I have been a diver for about 15 years now and loving every minute of it.

Yeoman First Class (E-6) 1979 - 1996* *I took the "early out", early retirement plan that Slick Willy and Congress approved for all branches of the military. (If you are E-5 and above, you could retire with 15 years and still get your full VA benefits and retirement pension (subtracted out vs a full 20 years). |

U.S. Army for over 21 years (Nov 86-present) and still going.
First 4.5 was in the Airborne Artillery, the rest has been as a Med Lab Tech. Been stationed at Ft Sill, Ft Benning, Ft Bragg, Ft Sam Houston, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Ft Leonard Wood, Ft Detrick, Korea, Iraq (depoloyment), and TDY to a number of other posts. |
