Hey Rob/PA......
Just a reminder.....I forgot to tell you that this weekend's hunt was fully guided. No need to bring your calls.
(Ya'll ever seen a grown man cry?):D |
RE: Hey Rob/PA......
congrats man, you officially just lost a hunting partner for this weekend....because hes stayin home.:D
Today was the first hunt ive been on that I didnt call in probably 2 years. We had a gobbler killed out from under us on the way to us by a gun hunter, but did have two jakes storm into the dekes. Which i missed the far one, at a total 9 yards.[&o]LMAO! All on film to top it off, which may even air locally (I sure hope not). I rushed the shot because he got skittish as I pulled back, and well you know the story, right between his legs. Good news is, my bow was so quiet that the turkeys literally did not know what happened. He just stood there, looking around. He finally ran off as I was drawing a second arrow. I cant believe I missed. I even quit mowing early yesterday and came home to practice from my blind. I was consistently hitting a 1.5" circle at 20 yards with my practice rage heads. May have been a blessing in disguise though, because who wants to fill their second tag on the 5th day of season with a jake. I still have 2.5 weeks to get er done, hopefully with a gobbler next time. |

because who wants to fill their second tag on the 5th day of season with a jake. Seriously.....I'd agree to quit hunting tomorrow if you promised me a jake. If I get one down with the compound.....I'm going longbow. |
RE: Hey Rob/PA......
Having someone else call islike being on the back on a 4 wheeler, you dont want to be on the back, you want to drive it yourself lol. Hope you guys have fun Jeff

Honestly.......I'm not that good of a caller (I think). I'm welcoming the change-up.
I hope they hear Rob and say "COOL......NEW MEAT!":D |
RE: Hey Rob/PA......

Unless you're planting plots with it (and even if you are, most times)....I don't know why any hunter would "need" more than 400cc's. Mine is 2 years old and it's performed flawlessly. I bought a Suzuki Eiger (I think Rob has the same unit in camo). Note the cat floss carrier on the side.;) |
RE: Hey Rob/PA......
heck, mine's a 250 and it does all I need!

RE: Hey Rob/PA......
I really need to get an ATV period. LOL These mountains will give dragging an all new meaning....Shot a doe opening day of bow season last year she decided to go straight up and over in 90" Sept heat. Would loved to have had one then regardlesss of the CC"S. As for the turkey calling I am probably worse than anyone and have still had some success. :D

RE: Hey Rob/PA......
Jeff that baby looks nice. I mostly needed to hawl deer out and when I go on my trips to Northern Wisconsin
I need it to get way back in the woods. Do you recommend 4x4 or will 2x4 suffice? (Ya'll ever seen a grown man cry?):D Tony, not to highjack Jeffs thread, but im no 4 wheeler expert but I agree it all depends on what you use it for. The more utility use or need, the bigger the motor. If its just for getting to and from stands, scouting, general cruising and carrying a deer out I would say a 400cc is all you need. I used to have lots of 3 wheelers back in the day and used a 250x and a 350x for pulling deer out. |
RE: Hey Rob/PA......
LMAO, I have an entire bag full of calls packed and I'd bet before the next 3 days are over, I'll have used most of them just to get under Jeff's skin. Now he calls me the heninator cause the last trip down last spring I think I called every hen in his county into our setups but less we forget, I also had a gorgeous strutting tom at 18 yards. He wasn't in the blind window.
;) And yes, I have a Suzuki Eiger in camo with a big tire kit, great machine! ![]() |

RE: Hey Rob/PA......
More like 650 cubic centimeters of Raw American Power... she'sthe American Muscle of ATV's..... a full 12" of Ground clearance Lock in lock out 4x4 WITH Diff Lock. sitting on some ITP Mud Lites... Only topping out at 60mph.... but you will not bog her down, and she gets there quick.
Is that an Air cooled engine?? Awww... i remember those little hit and miss motors..... the good ol days. LOL Rob, let me tell you the best ATV i have ever seen is another one that i own.... It is a Kawasaki 220 Bayou 2x4.....I have litterally tried to tear this thing up.... she wont die, I ride her more than i do the biggun. and if she died tommorrow, theres no shame in it. She starts better than my new one too. Very good and broke in. |
RE: Hey Rob/PA......
