It really is in the breed isn't it. Labs of course and the other upland dogs. Some labs will do the upland thing too right??

I hear what your saying. Besides Bowhunting, Duckhunting is #2 on my list. This spot is where they can lay me down to rest. It's a old quarry in the middle of a State Game lands PA. Its a good hour walk to get too. But in all the years I been hunting it I never once seen another Duckhunter!!ever!!! This spot is a duck honeyhole. Not a bad deer spot either. Had to go swiming for these woodies. Whatever it takes:DGood Post

We had some awesome duck hunting dogs growing up. I mean my dad is known for his bow hunting skills but I think he would rather sit in a duck blind and watch a dog do his thing more then anything. We sure have had some good hunts. I haven't duck hunted in several years. I just can't fit it all in!

RE: Duck hunters and bowhunters....

I can relate to this. Growing up I used to eat, breath, and sleep duck hunting. By the time I was 6 years old I could Identify every species of Ducks on N. America, as well as some others. I used to help experienced hunters identify their birds after they were down, so they could claim the right name. I loved duck hunting so much, and still do, but I havent been going like I used to. At times it felt more like work dragging all those decoys out in the dark, putting them out, and pick them back up at the end of the day. Although I feel there is nothing more fun than duck hunting, bowhunting is a lot more rewarding. That is why my passion has switched to bowhunting.
