I read something on archerytalk.com about how there were always fights going on over at hunting.net. I'd never heard of hunting.net before, so I came over to lurk and found that statement about arguementative posters to be largely a lot of rubbish. Infact in my experience, (granted we have a lot of folks here who are members of both) for someone who frequents/prefers AT over HNI because the membership of HNI is too arguementative is sort of like the pot calling the kettle black. I haven't logged on to AT in probably over a year.

I was on another forum for a long time and it started going sour, so PABowhnter invited me to come over and try this up and coming forum. Been what... something like 10 years ago, Frank? Anyway, it's all his fault I'm here.[8D]

I was checking for cuddeback reviews and this site showed up in the list. After checking it out 3 to 4 different times without signing in and joining I finally joined being I hadn't liked what someone had said in a thread. So I joined and here I am. Over all I like the site and its been fun so far. There are some very knowledgeable people on here. Thanks everyone for the good info so far.

Actually......... my wife found it for me.
I had to laugh, my exwife told me about it. We didn't have internet at home, I'm thinking late '98. She showed it to me at her work station. I'd access the net at work occassionally, like Matt / PA said, to post you needed a email address to enter, I didn't have one so I used the one at Contact US at HNI email...LOL Bucking the system. Made some friends and soon got internet at home. I was hooked. Back then, alot less forums and only 4 mods, course we didn't have the traffic then either. I was the first poster to hit the 1000 mark, the first at 2000 and then people caught and surpassed me. I'm member number 3209, right before Matt joined.

I am surprised you remember Arthur.

As Arthur mentioned he, I and alot of other bowhunting guys migrated over here from huntinfo (if I remember correctly). I cannot say I actually remember how I found this site. I used to hit eders, the bowsite and huntamerica quite frequently. I was always interested in the technical stuff with bowhunting gear and this place had a separate forum just to discuss it. There were alot of friendly people over here so it made alot of sense to start frequenting this forum. Glad I did.

That was alot of years ago and I am guessing that it was around the same time as Matt mentioned as I remember the original old forum format from years ago.
