I gotcha Germ. I pulled a 60 lb 82nd and Iguess since I'm used to my allegiance, it felt great. That katera XL does look like a sweet bow in all honesty.

I have nothing against the hoyts, except for no DL mods and bad feel on the only one I shot
Don't forget they are ugly as sin .....[:'(][:-]
Oh come on now, they have their own "Unique" charm and beauty about them

I can say the Katera XL draws extremly easy.I was shooting one 4 # heavier than my hunting weight and it didn't hurt my bad shoulder at all,I was really impressed considering the decent speed it generates.

I also liked the way the bow held and shot.It was real stable in my hand and wanted to hold on the spot.It was aslo very smooth.

I would give the 7-37 a notch up on it but different bows for different applications.I REALLY liked the way the 7-37 held and it would be on my short list for a 3-d bow but the Katera XL might be my pick for hunting. Not real sure at this point.

Beauty is in theeye of the beer holder and I love the looks of the Hoyts.[8D]

I really don't care what bow you end up getting, but paying that $50 extra for a lefty is ridiculous. Now there are issues and nobody is stating if it is truly resolved or what the resolution is? Case closed. Elite makes some very fine bows, some of the best in the business IMO, but the best bow in the world needs a strong company behind it. Elite is not there yet.

WELL GERM I'LL HAVE TO CHECK AND SEEWHAT THE LENGTHS OF MINE ARE LATER TODAY IF I GET TIME AND POST IT BACK FOR YOU. I THINK YOU SHOULD PM KEVIN ON ELITE'S FORUM AND ASK HIM DIRECT QUESTIONS, I HAD A FEW I ASKED HIM, AND HE RESPONDED BUT IT TOOK AWHILE. ONE THING I CAN SAY FOR ELITE THAT I CAN'T SAY ABOUT OTHER BOW COMPANYS, HOW OFTEN HAVE YOU SPOKE TO THE OWNER...EVERYTHING IS SO BIG BUSINESS NOW. I REALLY LIKE MY GTO. I THINK ELITE IS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THEY SEEM TO IMPROVE THERE DESIGNS EACH YEAR. LAST YEARS ENVY WAS A NICE BOW BUT HAD A GOOD BIT OF HAND SHOCK, THIS YEAR THE GTO DOESN'T. I THINK USING NEALY STRINGS WAS A BAD IDEA, BUT NOT EVERYONE IS HAVING PROBLEMS. THE FEW GUYS THAT HAD ISSUES SEEMED TO GET IT FIX FAST BY ELITE. I HOPE THEY DO WELL. I HOPE IN 10 YEARS THERE ARE A TON OF NEW BOW COMPANYS. MORE THAT ARE OUT THERE, PUTS PRESSURE ON THE OTHERS TO KEEP IMPROVING. WHICH IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE. I DO AGREE THAT ELITE NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE STRING ISSUE MORE OPENLY, AND ALSO HAVE BETTER QUALITY CONTROL IN THE FUTURE.

Elite is a growing bow company. They are up to capacity + with orders. Most companies like this will expierence growing pains, but they are handling them well. The Nealy strings were HEATED to speed up the stretching process ,but it caused the fibers to break down. Elite made it right through Nealy, nuf said.
Elite's customer service is outstanding from what I can see , but I think a lot depends also on YOUR dealer to give assistance.
With that said, I'm hanging in with my order. $50.00 or not.
If your dealer is not familiar w/ the supertuning on these bows , I'll help you with that. You know Michael is tuning my bow before I get it.

Gary, I understand your cautiosness and if you change your mind...OH Well. You have a lot of bows out there to choose from.
I'll still let you shoot mine at the GTG.

Hey I am feeling better this morning
I have decided not to visit the Elite Forum until the bow comes[8D] They are making me mental over there[&:]

I have heard they started making the LH's bows, and I have heard they have not

Some of those guys get on to hear themselves complain. I take it with a grain of salt.
The LH risers are cut and being dipped. As far as I know the limbs from Barnesdale are on the way. It wan't be long.

Germ, if you don't go with the GTO - I heard that G5 has a pretty nice new bow out. Maybe something you wanna check into.

And of course, there's always High Country - but that might be too fast for you. The trauma of shooting a bow that fast could actually cause the rest of your hair to fall out.

When HC stops using tuning forks as risers I will think about it. Excuse me while I get up and walk away[8D]
