can you figure this out?
I tried this once before, you have three hunters staying at a hotel that cost thirty dollars a night. So the three hunters each take ten dollars and give it to the lady at the cash register. She hands them a key and they go off to there room. She finds out later that she madea mistake and the room cost twenty five dollars. So she hands fiveONE dollar bills to the bell hop and he walks tothe huntersroom. He takes two dollars and puts it in his pocket for a tip and hands three one dollar bills to the hunters. So they got a dollar back out of their original ten making the room nine dollars. So 3x9 is 27 plus the 2 dollars the bell hop but in his pocket makes 29. Where is the extra dollar? Sorry if you have done this before and I wasted your time.

RE: can you figure this out?
collectively: the three people payed $30 but the hotel decided to lower it down to $25
now you should compute on how much each payed:
25/3 = 8.33 <-- this is the real amount...
since the bellhop gave them $1 each.... it will make them have 9.33 dollars each... sum up... it will reach 27.9999 + 2 in bellhops pocket, no missing dollar.
now you should compute on how much each payed:
25/3 = 8.33 <-- this is the real amount...
since the bellhop gave them $1 each.... it will make them have 9.33 dollars each... sum up... it will reach 27.9999 + 2 in bellhops pocket, no missing dollar.

RE: can you figure this out?
Let me try this:
There's no missing dollar because 30 minus 5 equals 25 plus the bell hop's 2 equals 27. Each of the guys ended up paying 9a pieceand 3 times 9 equals 27. At the end of the equation, you have to figure on 27 dollars as the total number spent, not 30 because30 is the old figure and will throw off the math.
Even then, it is still a little confusing to think about because the mind naturally gets tricked into referring back to the original 30.
Do I have it right or am I completely off?

In Wis 29 = 30
In Wis 29 = 30
KY well....20-40 = 30.[8D]
Simplest way of explaining is in bold.
The bell hops 2 dollars is INCLUDED in the 27. 3x9 does = 27, but you cant add 2, because it is already figured in. you have to add in the 3 dollars they got back to the 27 they spent to get back to the original 30.
