I agree 100%.

That and a good dose of "Common Sense" goes a long way to killing a buck. Sadly the latter seems to be short supply.:D

I only use scents for about 2 weeks. I use Pete Rickards Indian Buck Lure. The only reason I use it is to stop a buck for a shot. I use it as a distraction rather than an attraction.

I tried Tinks #69 a couple of times but I scared the deer away!! [:o]
Greg, can you explain this further? do you hang a wick? do you run a scent line straight away from your stand in a shooting lane?

I usually use film canisters, placed on trails in my shooting lanes in such a way it causes the deer to stop and look away so I can get the draw on him. I've done the scent line thing just as you have mentioned also, just not as often.

I have limited experience with scents but I've noticed deer head the other direction when using Tinks and have had alot of deer come to investigate Wildlife Research ........ can't remember the name of it. Moon something. I think based on reading things here and in magazine articles.. NO Scent is the best way to kill mature deer.

Never had any luck with it. I piss right out of my stand anyway.
