Prejudice

So today, I'm driving in to work - and this hillbilly guy goes roaring past in his jacked-up rustbucket pickup truck. He's spitting in a Mt. Dew bottle and has a white-knuckle grip on the wheel with the free hand. Pure gasoline is dripping out his tailpipe, and this vehicle hasn't passed an honest emissions test since it rolled off the assembly line.

Anyway, this tard is sporting a camo hat (sitting high with v-fold) - going for the"trucker look."He had some kind of indian dreamcatcher thing dangling from the mirror. Apparently, he thinks he's an indian. To top off the wholeensemble, hisback window was laid out with every possible retardedhunting sticker:
[ul][*]Give 'Em The Shaft (Muzzy)[*]Size Matters[*]Rackaholic[*]Speak the Language (Primos)[*]Lungbuster[*]Deer Prints[*]Turkey Tracks[*]Bear Tracks[*]Rebel Flag[/ul]
This schmuck is like a walking, talking stereotype. I couldn't see him from the neck down, but I'm saying the smart money is on: Nut Huggers and Hunting T-shirt. At least 2 dui's. 4 illegitimate kids.

Am I wrong for hoping that he choked on his snuff spit?

So I followed behind him for a few miles, kinda getting a laugh as he weaved through traffic in some kind of huge hurry. Seriously. What is wrong with people? Do you think he even knows that Pennsylvania was a Union state? That we fought against the confederacy? LMAO I doubt it.

...and just as I'm about to dismiss myself as being over-critical of people - a skoal can flies out the passenger's side window and bounces down the road.

Guess I was right. Slimebag.

Am I the only one that does it? Judge people? I'll admit it - I'm especially tough on our fellow "hunters."

Oh Fran.. you and I are so alike in so many ways.

You really need to venture out "west" and attend a deer classic with JZ and I. It's good times.

Why? Why is it that hunting seems to attract the dredges of humanity? Why is hunting season turning into a veritable Jerry Springer episode?

Being the Va historian anda teacher, my first red flag went up with the Confederate flag!!! Not rebel quick!! :Dj/k Anyway, I dip Kodiak and sometimes do it while driving, but mostly not, I don't zip through traffic, I do have a few hunting stickers, yeh, they are kind of tacky, but no antlers or tracks or anything pssing on anything, just a a Muzzy sticker and PSE sticker, oh and a "Bowhunting, Life at Full Draw" sticker, my wife really hates that one!! But you just described about 90% of the 17-25 age crowd here in southeast Va!! Yeh, it gets me too sometimes. But I guess everyone needs to belong to some group at that age. Yeh, I judge people, you have too, it's the only thing we have as character meter.

Duke - I hear ya, buddy. I avoid Gun Bashes, Hunting Expos and Bow Shops like the plague.

Honestly, Huntingnet is my only source of real exposure to the hunting public. I'm at a point where I won't even talk about hunting to people outside this forum.

Either that or a high school kid....

I'm hard on fellow hunters myself. I don't understand how you can blatently litter and consider yourself a conservationist in the same breath.

Personally, I don't dip, but I do like my sunflower seeds.... and when I'm driving... its usually a Sundrop bottle they go into.... hard to spit seeds out the window when driving.... great way to end up with one back in your face.... or on someone elses windsheild... and the people in Norfolk, VA are just oh so friendly all the time too....

Honestly man i have to say this, you sound like a little city boy, or a peda person in this thread. it could be completely untrue and you could just be a little stirred by this but c'mon. the guy was probably raised that way. im not defending him or anything, but you are also making a bad image for yourself. but i do understand your point b/c sometimes you see total idiocracy but hey, thats the world. i think the same thing about all of the white trash wannabee gangstas here where im from (western KY) but all people are different, and every hunter (or portrayed hunters) image cant be as well as yours. i enjoy the sport of archery and bowhunting as much as anybody, but i also drive a 6spd trans-am with a huge bird on the hood and drag race. does that mean i am a disgrace to our society here as well or dont fit in just b/c. im not calling you anything or trying to defend the littering deranged driving jack ass, but sometimes you just have to cut some people some slack.

I hear ya quick about how it attracts some real low lifes, I have unfortunately hunted with some at times, and while it does make me wonder, I usually take it in stride. There are lots of classy people that do this as well, and many of them are on this site, so I just take the good with the bad. Sometimes we may judge to quickly however, and we don't give people a chance, who knows their circumstances in life? What happened to them as children who their parents are??

This is hilarious. Before your first sentence was halfway complete, you made a harsh judgement ("little city boy") while admitting that you have no clue about quick or his background. Then you go on to tell him that his judgements are too hasty and too harsh ("cut some people some slack"), especially because there is no info about the background or upbringing of the fool in quick's original post.

And it's PETA, not peda. Idiocracy? Is that a form of government?

Sorry if I am being too judgemental.

I'm wondering how this guy got up to your parts without being in an accident. Brknarrow, Buck_Master and I saw him in VA on our way to shoot a 3D tournament the other day. He had 2 bags of corn in the passenger seat (where the 20 yr old trailer queen "usually" sits) when he crossed the double yellow line to pass us.

I think that the majority of hunters have good morals, not to say we don't dip or have a few adult beverages, but it is the lowest of any group of people that are most in the public eye, mostly by choice as is the case with your new friend. I have a sticker or two at anytime on my truck, don't litter and sure as heck try to represent our sport in a positive manner, I would like to hope that everyone else with the capacity would as well.

Fran I am not a big fan of the redneck stereotype but the rednecks don't really like the city types in the country. I'm a cross bread raised in the country and work in the city.
No matter what group or sport you enjoy there is always going to be the extreme people that have to be that way. for footballl fans it would be the body painting people that get me. Buy a jersey.
With all the people that don't like hunting I don't think it matters to them if you're a complete redneck or not. They just hate hunting and hunters

Who knew that a trailerpark redneck weavingdown the highway in his Exxon Valdez pickup truck could send ripple-effects across the moral fabric of America, causing me to come out of the closet and Bloodcreek to confess his love for truck nuts?!

Lanse - you KNOW somebody looked at the "multiple DUI's" option and thought "Nah, I bet these here polls aren't anominous. Screwit. I aint votin."
