My 07' Mount..........Finally!!!
 

After watching all of your mounts over the last few months, I've been awfully antsy to get mine back. I got the callearlier thisweek and he put the heaters and fans on it for several days to get it dry in time for me to pick up this weekend since I was going to be in town (almost 2 hours to the taxi).For anyone in central NY I can't recommend him highly enough, his contact info is below:

I knownot everyone isinto the aggressive poses, but this is exactly what he looked like as he walked into my shooting lane after scraping, trashing a tree, and chasingthat button buck all at under 30 yards from me. I'm thrilled with the mount, he put a ton of time into the inside of the nostrils,the eyes are flared out just enough for the aggressive mount without looking tacky, Tim even did a bit of dew/water on his whiskers on the chin. The small details are really fantastic, and the cape came out on him as one of the nicest I've seen with a lot of dark features, yet still that thinner coat of a bow season deer.

The aggresive pose is not one of my favorites. But that being said, your taxi did a goodjob on the mount. Very nice hide on that buck too.:)

I really like it Matt. I did a similiar mount to show off the head gear on my very first mount. I thought the buck needed to be mounted due to the broken/healed over fracture in his back leg.

That's not your deer. It's Rob's. Look at it, no brow tines... It's one of Robs. LOL I don't like the pose myself. I'd rather see them alert like the majestic beast they are and not like a dog with his ears laid back,...... but that's me.

Thanks guys, I think last night after hanging him I probably spent 90% of the evening with no idea what was on TV........because I was staring at the mount. [8D] Lisa has given me one wall in the livingroom for mounts and I think he looks perfectthere.

And Jeff, yes......he's a 2.5 y/o buck. Both Dan and I weren'tcompletely sure when I shot him, but Dan is trained on aging teeth (Did for NYS DEC for several years) and despite his above average body and antlers (for his age) he's a 2.5. I'd say probably 50% of the 3.5's end up about his sizearound my property....on averagethey seem to end up 90" to 120" from what I've seen. When I green scored him (gross) he was 98" and change with no brow tines.

Very nice mount! That is exactly how my Iowa buck came into my decoy this past year, so I'm haveing him mounted on the same form.
Only bad thing is that I still haven't got my archery and muzzleloader bucks from 06 back yet!:(:(

I too like the uniqueness of the no brow tines as well as the pinned back ears.....very nice indeed!!!
