RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
I would use whatever flies best for you...any head will do the job when put in the boiler room....
Its what flies best for you.. Mechanicals offer the least amount of variation...as you may now...they fly just like the field points.. |
RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
125 thunderheads cause they work. They fly a lot different than 125 gr. field pts so some fine tuning is required to make the change. Almost all sharp broadheads will drop a deer or elk/ect if hit in the vitals but the head has to be tuned and balance and when you figure this out, stick with what works and flies right. ;)

G5 montec 100's "A lean, mean, deer eliminatin machine", simple (one piece), resharpenable to a scary (did I just slice my finger?) edge , no gimmics (its one piece for goodness sakes!), and you don't have to cash in a child or two to own a set!

RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
Muzzy fixed 3 blade or NAP Spitfire expandables. I know that I have slick tricks listed in my sig but I plan to use them this season even though I haven't yet tried them, I still have faith they will do the job (after a few test fires of course). But yeah those two that I mentioned are the most guaranteed in the business.

RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
This year I will be using 100grain SilverFlames. Super darned expensive[:o]. BUT, I think it's the absolute best head for my setup on big game. And yes, I will be investing in a metal detector:D. If I don't lose 'em, they should last me a long time.

RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
Doegirl, I have "heard" that those are the toughest heads out there and do massive damage. I thought about giving them a go in the future! Like you said expensive as **** but will last you a lifetime! I've seen countless videos on a Trad site that this guy uses these heads on Hogs and I can't believe the damage they do! Every hog and deer is just down in seconds with huge holes and massive blood trails.
I hope someone chimes in that has used them first hand! |
RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
Them German Kenitics are $80 for a trio....****...thats outrageous!
Buy Tango Tiburons...good design just one flaw...not enough Cutting Diamter! |
RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
I admire the spear headed design of them as well.

RE: looking for new broadheads for deerhunting!
Those silver flames look pretty cool, but at $80 a pack i don't think I will be shooting those!!! I think I will try the new GrizzTricks but if those fail it is back to the old faithful Muzzy's!!!
