MeanV gets my vote. In the short time I've been on the forum, he's been very helpful to me a few times.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Where to start, Matt, Rob, Frank (PABowhunter), JeffB, AusieGuy, Scott (buckeye), Davidmil, Rickmur, Rybo, Cardeer, Rack-Attack, Mitch (IL_Bow_Man), ArthurP, JamesVee, Atlasman (yea, thats not a joke either), BTBowhunter, BigCountry, ect... there are so many guys that aren't on the forums anymore that I would have placed at the top of this list, its really a shame that they aren't around as they were incredibly helpful to any hunter who asked a question.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
ORIGINAL: Schultzy There's allot of good folks on here. It's really not stuff that I've learned, its stuff that I want to try and see if it works for myself being it has worked very well for that one individual. Allot of the stuff I read on here I can't believe I wasn't trying myself. Its amazing how blind I am at times, you can bet your arse I'll be taking the knowledge from the likes of you all and try and put it in use for myself. The knowledge I've learned on here ranges from deer hunting ideas (hunting buck's and doe's) to learning and remembering to have fun, sometimes we all need to be reminded that we are out in the woods to have fun! Guys like Vabowman and BowHuntingFool have been a real plus for me. Both of these guy's would take the shirt off there backs to give a guy a hand, both of these guys I know I could count on if needed be. Don't be fooled by these guys, they have done very well hunting these whitetails, they have my respect!! Guys like Shed, Peakrut, Sliverflicker, DukeMicheals, TeeJay, _Dan, Oakcreek, Kodiak, Bloodcreek, GregH, BobCo19-65, Burnie, and others I can't think of at the moment have had some great success with there ways of hunting and I can't wait to try some of there ways. I really enjoy reading post's from a few others as well, here is a few that I enjoy TJF, Germ, Buckeye, Kyle, Magicman, LT, MichiganWhitetails, PreacherTony, xxxroryxxx, SouthDakotahunter, MNpurple, Double Creek, Rybo, jackflap allot of these guys have some things in common with me on the way I hunt so I really enjoy what they have to say and its surprising how some of us do allot of the same things. The Tech side of archery equipment is where I lack terribly and I need to improve so much on. There are some awesome folks on here! I can't believe the knowledge some of you guys have, I would give my left nut to know a 1/4 what some of you guys know. The guy that comes to mind right away is Rob/PA Bowyer, man that guy knows his stuff!! I wish he lived closer to me so I could rack his brain on this stuff!! Others that come to mind also are Mobo, Matt/PA, Buckeye (Again), ArthurP, BobCo19-65 (Again), LBR, Bigcountry, MeanV, Rick James, Burnie (Again). Thanks so much you guys for all the info you have shared on here! I apologize to the people I forgot as well, there's more of you but my head isn't thinking right this morning, too much other BS on the brain right now!! ![]() |

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
If you don't pick up information from this site, you're just not paying attention.
There's a lot of knowledge and expierence to be had. Most everyone here has something to contribute, even if it's just a little humor. |
RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Everyone! I Thank You!

I just wanna be held ....is that so wrong? :D

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Once again my genius seems to have gone unnoticed!:DThe challenge for me is not in the knowledge piece of the equation it is in the application of that knowlege, which I believe only comes from feet to the ground experience in the woods. One of the great things about hunting is that you can always get better and as you do the improvemants become more and more subtle.
There are certainly folks here that get my full attention when they are sharing information, and there are many, many folks here who I believe would be a blast to hunt with. |
RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
OMG thare would not be enough room here for me to list everyone ;)what a source of knowlage on here, i commend you all ;)

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
I logged on here way back in 2000 when I just had a few months of hunting under my belt. I've learned so much from this group and it's kept me coming back day after day. The technical aspects and product reviews are great. So many to name.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
I have learned from everyone and just by being here. The main person who has helped me hands on is Rob, but I am fortunate enough to live within a few miles.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
I really can't begin to list everyone whom I've learned things from over the years. I've been with HNI for more years than I care to remember and I've taken a lot away from my readings here. Everyone has so much to offer in regards to every aspect of our sport whether it be about hunting or target archery and tuning. I would say a good 80% of what I know I learned here on HNI.
I've developed several relationships with members here that will hopefully last a lifetime. |

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Numerous people on here...I've had a lot of questions directed toward and answered by RJ, Rob, and Matt/PA...I always think I'm being annoying with too many questions, but they've gone out of their way to give me some seriously in depth information/feedback. I've learned a ton of various things from all sorts of posts on here by various members. The great thing about forums is you get such a wide range of backgrounds, experience, skills, etc that everyone has something to contribute.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
I am not going to list them, that would take way to long, but one member that I am planning to meet soon that has helped me out alot is farmcountry, that is good people right there. I will meet Matt one day, and I suppose the old man we call GMMAT as well ( JK Jeff :D). Not to many people live around me, so I dont get to meet that many from here.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Its tough being out here in Michigan because I would really like to hang with you guys sometime. I'm actually flattered to see that some of the guys enjoy my posts. Its funny because I have learned a great deal from these same individuals as well...
The list goes on...and GMMAT , Vabowman & Schultzy have mentioned alot of the big hitters that I have also learned and made contact with.. For me, If I had to lay a gold metal down I would like to say thanks to the following: #1 Schultzy - I really like this guys way of doing business. Outside of the fact that he is an accomplished hunter and one to respect and learn from.... He is an all around really good person...He's real....I like his appreciation and love for his dad as a hunter and his views on INSTINCT and how it plays a role in having that extra edge...Schultzy is that down home guy you could hunt with, drink with, chat about family values, share a cup of coffee, and then go bust the lungs on something the following day. #2 MagicMAN - I like the man with the magic because of his style...He's just darn funny! And accomplished....Magicman is a man with an open mind...not set in his ways....he gets it done but he wants to learn learn learn...Magic is a cool dude...Funnier than S^*&^%(* #3 Dubbya - Dubbya reminds me of myself...I like his humor and love learning from him...he loves to capture the moment and tell all about his success....he has a true passion..I like that. Germ, Buckeye, Kyle, Magicman, xxxroryxxx(reminds me of myself growing up), SouthDakotahunter, MNpurple, ROB/PA BOWYER are others that I like too.... This forum rocks...yer all great.... |
RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
I have learned from alot of people, but mostly it is just put the boots on and get out in the woods. GregH and Schultzy have some fantastic ideas/proven tactics from what I have seen...I also listen to the guys who hunt public lands alot, as that is all I am able to do........so their long fought opinions matter alot to me.

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Bloodcreek has taught me many things over the years, I know is seems like I slit his throat all the time on here but it goes both ways and we both love it. He is an ace mechanic and can fabricate anything. He has made me several invaluable items. I always tell him, "You are lucky you are such an asset, or I would have already killed you.". Very talented man, plus he is good looking, but those fingers..................

RE: Who have you learned some real stuff from??
Once while attending a GT sponsored by Sunset I got the privelege of shooting with a gentleman who had arrived from Newaygo, Michigan with former HNI members Deadshot and Tallgirl. The gent was a champion comp shooter and bowhunter from way back. Seldom have I seen a finer shot, then or since, and he was gracious enough to not only critique my form but to school me on how to shoot better with trad bows. I was very new to archery in general, trad in particular, and I learned a lot that weekend.
