Default Lazy/Cheap?

I remember seeing pics of this deer but didn't know this part of the story.

Trophy buck hunter Chris James pleads guilty - Michigan News ...

Kind of a bummer, I mean really how much is Michigan archery license and how long does it take to purchase one? Seems like this was an easy problem to avoid, some people I just don't get.

Wow, what at idiot. MI is about the easiest state to get a tag in...no excuse for it, glad to see he got that penalty.

What I think is amazing is the guy knew that he was breaking the law and told the true story, I mean if you're going to poach a buck be smart enough to lie about the day that you killed it.

Being from Michigan I know that it doesnt take much at all to get a license. A simple trim to Meijer or where ever will do the trick and I think its only like $9?

It doesn't amaze me. I have been told by a reputable source that some guys who make trips to Colorado damn near do the same thing, and tell others its the best way to go there and save some money. Each guy applies for a different type of animal permit, and whoever shoots an animal uses the corresponding permit to tag it. For example one applies for bear, another for mule deer, and one buys an over-the-counter elk permit. Don't know what they do if someone shoots the same type of animal on the same day, but I'd like to see them get caught.
