RE: Bowhunting Glamour Shots - at what point do they get "weird?"

This may be the greatest thread ever. As soon as I finishedreading the first post I though "eye gazer." That is gay and wierd. I am all for taking good photos, but to me the animal is the star of the show. I'm terrible at smiling for a picture (right Rob?)so I just want the animal to look good.

The "promoter" is one that I may be guilty of because I will where my Bowtech, or Mathews, or WKP, or HB, or River Valley, or whatever hat in pictures. The eye gazers and the heavy petters are creepy though.

RE: Bowhunting Glamour Shots - at what point do they get "weird?"

None of my bad ones ever got scanned (before digital photography) - but there is one in particular that really stands out.

I had this one photofrom when I was 12 (maybe 100 pounds soaking wet)- sitting on top of (straddling)a doe carcass in the bed of a pickup truck. It's whole head is bloody and tongue is hanging out. And I waswearing this stupid Syracuse hat that looks like something from a Boyz II Men video. Gold chain proudly displayed. Evidently, I went in the house and changed clothes to put on something "cool" for my picture.

I was making a toughguy face, too. Looking at the photo - I was going for the "I shoot deer like this all the time" look. "It aint no thang." Almost as if I was trying to appear to be being inconvenienced by the whole picture-taking process. But I distinctly remember making my mother come outside and snap a photo.

If I could go back in time and kick my own ass, I would.

Bryan: Solid scoring.

Okay, then we can take that one out if it's a legitimate "action shot."We'll give Mr. Whittington a pass.

We'll replace Gordon with this guy:

Today, we salute you, Mister "I dress up in camo and take my mount outside for pictures" guy.
The interior walls of your humble abode simply can't contain the majesty, size and sheer power of your hunting prowess.

* singing * *Real Men Of Genius*

You break out the "steppin' out" camo - and your Mr. October gameface when it's time to strike a pose for your bowhunting scrapbook. You were born hard, and you're not afraid to let the world know it.

* Look! I'm outside! *

Step aside Fred Bear, 'cause there's a new sheriff in town.

* I'm not smilin. *

So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, oh Baron of Bowhunting, and hang your mount back up on the wall, where it belongs.

This post just about brought me to tears laughing so hard.

Guys this post screams one thing from Fran

I HAVE NOT SHOTA BIG BUCK YET:D

When he does shoot one,he will have every glamour shot none to man taken of him and his beast. It's only a matter of time before Fran connects and when he does, HNI and every board East of the Miss. River better add some bandwidth;)

Quik,

I always appreciate your great sarcasm filled posts. This one has definately taken the cake lately. The real men of genius quote was priceless.

GregH,

That photo of your buddy without his pants should be the next mastercard ad. Thank you for making my morning.
