Rob, I'd love to take a turkey with my bow, but since I am a turkey hunting newbie I am trying it with a shotgun this season, I only have one week.

You're STILL "stubbling" words.

If you haven't seen the footage......he's a babbling fool.....lol (but a pretty darned good shot[&:]).

I can attest to Rob's fervor for turkey hunting. I saw him reduced to babbling....and thought he might have a coronary when we had a big tom in full strut at 18yds here, last year.

It's refreshing.

Good stuff, buddy. See ya 3 weeks from today.

Do turkeys have half beards?

No, but they can have one of their spurs broken off.;)

Tony:

If that's a serious question......the length of the beard doesn't always indicate a mature bird.;)

Thanks for the laugh Tony. That right there was funny. On turkeys I'm good, full beards and spurs, it's those damn tough whitetails I shoot that must get into tussells. ;) Now watch me shoot a longbeard with one spur this year. [8D]

And I wasn't even the shooter. Turkeys fire me up....I still tought that was a done deal. That's the difference in bowhunting and shotgunning, shotgunning that turkey was in the oven, bowhunting we never got a shot.

Oh and don't think others are immuned to it. I watched Matt / PA's shotgun shaking last spring when I thought we had a done deal on a gobbler. The hens were in the field in front of us, the gobbler sounding off right at the edge and some idiot moved in and called too much and shut it all down. [&:] The look on Matt's face was priceless tho. ;)

See ya in 3 weeks Jeff, 4 weeks Matt.

LOL no, Matt is hunting with me on our season opener the day before I fly out to Cancun. Hunting turkeys Saturday, flying to Cancun for a week Sunday...yeah, it's a tough life...LOL I'll be after the turkeys hard when I return back home from Cancun, missing a Saturday and a week of our 4 week season.
