I'm just curious, how many of you havehunting land that allows you to let a legitimate 140" buck walk. I've been hunting for a long time and can honestly say that I've only seen 1-2 legit bucks of this caliber. So needless to say if one comes within range I'm flining a arrow at him.
This one is not 140" but he is a nice 2.5 year old we let walk this past year and he made it through the season. We saw him many times this past season (Had him as close as 8 yards with a bow). As far as management goes, we try to go by age not by inches. Here's a link of him:

Tex that's a great buck. I'm sure that it will pay off for you. It just got me wondering yesterday when I was watching Lee & Tiffany that they let so many bucks walk each year and I commend them for their diligence but I don't see me ever being able to do that hunting where I do.

Negative....

I've let a fewwalk that were in the 100 range, simply b/c they were 2 year olds.... In my area, anything over 100 is a pretty dang good bow buck.

None, I have not let a 140 walk and don't plan on it.

I'd even extend my effective range by a yard. Thwack

My area does not produce bucks much bigger than 140". Bucks bigger than that are rare. I would not let a buck of that size walk.

On my private farms that either I own or have sole permission to hunt.... Let'em walk. On our lease that we have no idea when our last year could be... THWACK!

I have one hunting spot where I would let a 140" walk. The rest of my spots, my goal is 130" or better. For the last two seasons my goal was 145+ and I've been lucky, the highest that I let go was a 136. It will be hard because a 140 is a pretty big buck.
