Who's your hero?
Who is your hero in the deer woods, outside of family or friends. In other words, someone whom you have never met but really look up to and admire their attributes.
Without a doubt mine are: Charles Alsheimer Leonard Lee Rue III |
RE: Who's your hero?
Jesus Christ ..... and I mean that ..... I am His creation, in His creation, hunting His creation .... you see, it's all about Jesus :)

RE: Who's your hero?
Good reply preach!
Other than what Tony stated, Michael Hunsucker! When I grow up I wanna be, wanna be like Mike.;) |
RE: Who's your hero?
Thats a tough one. In reality it would be my dad hands down but since you stated that no friends or family could be involved I would have to say the Wensel Brothers then. I've always enjoyed watching there deer hunting video's. They seem like real down to earth people to me and are also some pretty successful buck hunters. These boys can shoot a recurve too! They've made some unbelievable shots with there recurves on some of there video's of deer on a slow run or fast trot and numerous times they drilled them perfect at 20 yards.

RE: Who's your hero?
Outside of my father and brothers......none.
|
RE: Who's your hero?
My Dad......My Mom.......Then there are others......
|
RE: Who's your hero?
If you are your own hero... does that really count as having an actual hero?
|
RE: Who's your hero?
"Hero's" a little strong.....but I admire the way Brad Farris and Fred Eichler go about their respective business.
I don't know them, though. I have friends that I KNOW how they hunt.....and I admire them for it. |
RE: Who's your hero?
ORIGINAL: _Dan Outside of my father and brothers......none. But I really like Charlie Alsheimer and Rue III. Mainly because Alsheimer is an amazing photographer, hunter, writer, and outdoorsman. He is my hero, because one day I hope to enjoy the same success/career that he leads in some way shape or form. I admire Rue just because of his vast knowledge of the whitetail species. He is also an awesome photographer but I believe that his strength is his biological/anatomical/physiological (sp?)understanding of deer. |
RE: Who's your hero?
Gramps without a doubt. But if ya cant choose family, all the fallen soldiers in our countries battles.

RE: Who's your hero?
"Hunting Hero's" Outside ofFamily ?? Surely you jest! I don't know if I find the question funny or sad !!
I have None. |
RE: Who's your hero?
I have no heroes.
Now that isn't to say that I don't respect a lot of theguys out there now and those who have come before them in the world of archery(bowhunting), but I'm just not a "hero" type of person. I root for the guys who live thier lives as "heroes" yet never achieve or want that public distinction. |

RE: Who's your hero?
Im realizing that I phrased the question wrong, hero is a bit much. Just someone who you admire, I say look up to cause I am just 18, repect, or have a high regard for.

RE: Who's your hero?
Plenty of people's whose efforts, ethics and results I admire! Similar to Ryan though I favor the folks who go about it with little to no fan fare.
Lot's of folks here that it would be a privelege to hunt with and to discuss hunting with. |
RE: Who's your hero?
I have respect for a lot of people in the industry but the people i truly admire are the every day hunters that have consistent success on big deer while hunting less than perfect areas those are the hunters i admire!!
