Default Whats up with the ego?

Seriously, all these posts lately about being the "man" and trying to proove your the best dang deer hunter to ever step in the woods.... they are getting old. Who really cares? What do you have to proove and does it make you feel like moreof a man toproclaim that you are thegreatest deer hunter of all time? There is way to much chest thumping going on. I know that I am nowhere near the best hunter on this board or even in my general area but I couldn't really care less at all. I just love getting out there and hunting, I don't do it because I have something to proove or so I can showoff about being the "great white hunter". Last time I checked, the hunt was between you and the deer, not a contest between several people to see who is "the best". Hell, I seem to remember a few years ago that everybody was up in arms about a certain organization that was trying to turn hunting into a sport. People were blowing up because they were turning hunting into a contest, but that is all I have seem to been reading on here lately. Its starting to show me why CharlieP, ArthurP, and Davidmil don't join any hunting contests. Okay, I am getting off my soap box, ya'll continue!

You may have taken the wording too literally.

Maybe Greg, but it isn't just that thread. Lately the board has been polluted with it. People giving excuses as to why they don't have the success of others, people thumping their chests about being the best, ect.. Its all a little ridiculous. Nobody has to prove anything to anybody, but constantly guys are giving excuses as to why they didn't shoot a monster like somebody else did. In the big scheme of things it doesn't matter. What happened to just going out and having fun doing what you love?

I'm always willing to learn how to Hunt better from others that have been hunting longer than me or to learn something new and I have joined a few of the Team Hunting Contest for fun but the most fun I have is just going out and being in the woods enjoying the wildlife and beautiful weather....it is more relaxing that way and less stressful too!

Face it, you're just jealous like I am.

No seriously, it's the "off season" and a lot of us are bored. I wonder how many of us on here are telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth, lol.

Well, if makes you feel any better I don't brag about being the best? Then again, I have very little experience and 0 stats up on the score board, lol.

I haven't seen any degrating posts though, so I would have to say that it's all done in a respectful manner than who cares? I like to see all the photos of everyone's throphy's because I come on here to dream about the season and hope for one of my own.

Consider the source!

Bowhunting is not like Golf, pool, basketball, football, etc. I hunt for my own goals and my own pleasure. I have been lucky to take a few nice Trophies over the year. Yes Lucky!! There are a lot of right places as long as you are there at the right time. Nothing can substitute for time spent in the stand. You can't kill'em in bed, on the couch watching Outdoor channel, or driving down the road.

Unlike the Above mentioned Sports there are No winners or Losers in Bowhunting.

Well the Loser might be someone who is doing it for some reason beside fun[8D]
