Im not arguing, I agree with his definition of a yearling....Doesn't mean I am any more right than the next guy who thinks of a younger deer as a yearling.
my thinking of yearling is different than your guys. mines that the deer had spots on it that summer. im not an expert, thats just what i call that age class

In order to be considered a yearing, the deer should be at least one year old - othwise why the heck would we consider it a yearing? A deer that's born in the spring will not be a year old by hunting season, so that fall we call them FAWNS...

The next fall they are just over one year old, so we call them yearlings....

ya, i think it really varies from person to person, town to town, etc.

This guy had 2 deer that were over 180" as yearlings.

One died.....one lived. He's over 210", now.....EASILY.
