Anyone shoot Mission?
#1
I know this question has probably been asked, but has anyone shot any bows from Mission yet? In my Deer and Deer Hunting magazine i saw the ad for the Mission "Journey" and I fell in love with it. Not too bad of price either. I pickeda Mission bowup at a shop the other day and it felt very nice. Pretty light, comfortable, real balanced feel. Anyways, any thoughts on these bows? Im hoping either next year or year after to be getting a new bow and could consider Mission.

The new issue of Bowhunting World had some info on the Mission Journey. They ranked it in their top bows for 2008. I'm not for sure if it really IS one of the top bows for 2008 but it looks like a great bow at a great price. I'd shoot one.

I shot a Mission Journey at my local Mathews shop. It was really nice. My dealer was actually saying the same thing, that the Journey was basically the same bow as the Switchback except without the roller guard and a few other minor things. If you look at their website, they also have their Buckmastersbow that is basically the Journey except with the roller guard. So almost identical to the Switchback. My dealer was actually pushing it as one of the best buys for the money. I don't think you could go wrong with it.

But without the harmonic dampeners and roller guard. Only about $150 cheaper also.

Exactly like Mathews. I don't know which one my buddy Nate shoots (Mission) but he's shooting it very well. I asked what it was, he said Mathews discontinued the Switchback line and the Mission bow he was shooting WAS the Switchback. his words, "I don't care what anyone says, this bow is the Switchback." (He shoots for a local shop which sells Mathews/Mission).

Basicly, but there are other differences same as the Diamond/Bowtech line. Wood grip vs. plastic, 2-3 yr old models that they bring back and try to push as top of the line state of the art models. I have no idea what the mission version of the Switchback sell for, but I would bet you can find a Switchback in a bow shop somewhere for the same money. I looked at a Mission for Sam (my 12 yr old) same thing as a FX. The FX was 45 more. Couldnt get either bow short enough so I never bought it.

So the harmonic dampeners and roller guards are the extra $150?
