Yes, but I'll bet the percentage of bowhunters who hunt by stalking is very low.

There is a certain steadiness that a nice heavy Hoytbow has - particularly if it is well balanced with a nice long stabilizer. I think my Protec weighs around six pounds complete. I have only ever noticed the weight on walks of a couple miles or more.

if i recall correctly, over on Huntersfriend.com they have the genreal listed at around 4.2lbs

(at work some sites are restricted here)
That's what I recall as well; 4.2 lbs. (Boat anchor!)
That's funny right there, Boat anchor. What's that Hoyt weigh in that avatar? Hell the difference can be made up in accessories. Complete bow the General doesn't weigh any more than the 10 Hoyt's I've shot in the past.
I've put them both on the scale and the UltraTec weighs .4 pound LESS than my Old Glory (which is the same published weight as the General). When the accessories are all figured in the Hoyt's .6 pound less. Not much when you're climbing 20' up a tree every day but extremely significant when your average day of hunting involves a 2000' climb and a 4 mile hike, and God forbid you shoot something and have to carry that extra 1/2 pound on top of the 80-100+ pound pack on your back. Guarantee you'd be selling your General after one season up here...

I was calling around today getting prices on some bows. One of which was the general. I asked the pro shop guy how much it weighed. He did not know so he put it onHIS digital scales and said it weighed in at 4.92 pounds, bare bow.
