the toyota was real nice if you wernt going to pull big or heavy trailers...

(22ft,26ft pontoon,alum trophy 195,stratos 386fx and a stenza 204)all big boats/pontoons
.
.
07 Toyota double cab 4x4 longbox
.
This concerns me a bit because I intend to buy a rather large pontoon and tow it with my Tundra. I hope itwas a Tacoma and nota Tundra you had problems with.

Hey Matt, is ranger56528 one of your accounts too? Seems odd if it weren't 'cause I asked ranger but you knew the answer?

It's phenomenalbut of course I'd think that. :D

I have the 5.7 and with me alone and no cargo, I'll get 20mpg. I'm barely on the gas and it's accellerating with traffic. I pulled a yukon and a full sized conversion van out of the snow this winter effortlessly it seemed. Passing is no problem considering it's quicker thanthe standardmid 90's Mustang V8. Pretty amazing how this thing moves considering it weighs near 6000 lbs.

Lol, sorry Ranger, hope I wasn't stepping on any toes. I only know that from previous conversations with him on here that he had a Tacoma.

You get 20mpg? I don't even get that in my Tacoma.:( Is that highway cruising? What is your around town mileage? You're 4wd right?

Wisconsin man's '91 Silverado set to hit 1 million miles

Talk about finding a good used car. Frank Orsenick bought his '91 Silverado in 1996. At the time, it had 41,000 miles on the clock. After 11 years of service (and a lot of driving), the old pickup is about to reach a milestone. Frank had the oil changed last week, just as he has every 3,000 miles since acquiring the Chevy, and it's sure to be the last one it receives as an everyday-use vehicle. You see, it's just 1,200 miles away from spinning past the 1,000,000-mark on the odometer. When it hits the big number, Frank is going to put his faithful ride into retirement. As for how he got this far, Orsenik credits regular maintenance and "a little luck." We should all be so lucky.

When informed of Mr. Orsenik's impending milestone, Chvrolet General Manager Ed Peper said, "Most Dependable, Longest Lasting isn't just a slogan, and it applies not only to Chevy pickups but to the people who drive them. We get lots of mail from customers with hundreds of thousands of miles on their Chevy trucks - so much, in fact, we formed the Silverado 200,000 mile club in 2006 - but a million miles is certainly remarkable. We're glad to have Mr. Oresnik on the Chevy team."

Congrats to Mr. Orsenik. May your next truck be as dependable as this one.

Chevrolet Silverado Selected as a Top Pick by Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports has selected the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab as its top truck choice among all pickups for 2008.

CR says, "the redesigned Silverado is considerably improved. It achieves a nice balance between work attributes and livability, including a generous payload rating, a comfortable ride, improved interior quality and steering feel, and easy access."

The Silverado was the only domestic vehicle chosen in the ten categories that make up CR's Top Picks, and the first since 2005.

In earning the award, the Silverado was selected over the all new Toyota Tundra, which won Consumer Reports' half-ton comparison test last year. Consumer Reports says the Tundra's first year reliability has been subpar, particularly the 5.7-liter V8 four-wheel-drive version.

Original drivetrain/engine? Good for him, looks like he took care of his vehicle. My honest opinion on a lot of vehicles, is that they run into problems/low longevity out of a general lack of care. I RELIGIOUSLY change my oil, rotate my tires, and grease every 3K miles. Sometimes I grease more than that. My rotation cycle is why I got over 40K miles out of 64lb Interco Trxus M/Ts running 23psi street pressure.

I agree the new Tundra issues were unacceptable. I'm glad Chevy/GMC changed interiors with the new lineups, as the old was FUGLY:D My brother-in-law owns an 05 1500. Very solid truck...dated interior. Good gas mileage though for a fullsize.

I have two opinions on this one if you want a truck that will use sheer muscle, and balls of steel to get you out of a jamgo with dodge 1500 with the hemi. if you want some thing you can drive off a cliff flip it over and drive home, go and buy a pre 2006 toyota tundra

Dodge....Dodge...Dodge and only Dodge!!! Everything else looks and feels weak!
If you're talking strictly gas engines then you need totest drivea new Tundra 5.7 V8. 381hp 401tq 0-60 in low 6, quarter mile in 14.6 sec. - I think the next quickest full sized truck is the Titan which comes in at 15.2 sec. The dodge hemi is 15.3 iirc.

When I sat behind the wheel in a Fordext cabwith the seat all the way back, my knees were against the dash. When I sat in a Chevy, my head was against the ceiling. Same in GMC, of course. Dodge... [:'(]Couldn't slather enough grease on my buns to get into a Nissan. The T-100 was the only pickup I could get into and be comfortable.
WOW, the complaint is usually the other way around, I'm surprised. If you want more room in a pick-up, try the 07+ Tundra crew max. It has rear seats that can recline as well as move front and back just like the front seats. I'm not even sure if there's anything else on the market like it.
I don't do Japanese....somehow it never seemed right and besides I'm more of an isolationist and not a big subscriber to the so-called "world community" movement....

Tundra's are manufactured (and assembled) in the Texas plant. Tacoma's are manufactured and assembled in the Texas plant as well as Canada. Sure the company is still rooted in foreign soil, but parts of many "domestic" vehicles are manufacutered and/or assembled in foreign countries.

Edit: Sorry if I came off wrong there. I still think there are many solid trucks out there (not just toyota). I just wanted to make mention of how vehicles today are often assembled/manufacturered in various places.

Yeah, I have a double cab4wd. That figure is what I get from my mpg meter when I'm on a perfectly level road doing 70mph with the cruise on. In a real life situation, it would never be possible to get 20 considering you have to accellerate to 70 where you would then get your best gas mileage. Toyota claims 19.

Since I got my truck in September of last year, I've left the mpg tracker untouched and so far I've gotten an average of 14.3 mpg. keep in mind I work 3 miles from home and run around town quite a bit so alot of that is city mileage. Top it off, I used to be a drag strip addict so my foot isn't always lead free.

The 07 4x4 ram 1500 QC does a 15.3 to 15.5quarter milewhile the (comparable) 07 Tundra 4x4 5.7 i-force DC does 14.6 to 14.8 qtr mi --- so I think, and I may be wrong here but 7 tenths better will get you out of a jam faster right? ;)

Perception can be reality, but only in that person's mind. Track times on the other hand are, well... really reality...for everyone. :D;)

Tell you the truth bud, I like theDodge's design up front better than the Tundra. However, Ilike the look of the Tundra's box and tailgatebetter. But, that's just me.
