RE: Would You
don't really care that they are going home empty handed. It's like going to the bar as a college student and stating you're gonna hook up with........"something". I don't really mind going home empty-handed. |
RE: Would You
I wouldn't be smart enough to know that you could bring two weapons.[&o]

RE: Would You
ORIGINAL: kickin_buck I would never use an outfitter, but for the sake of argument, I would say I would opt for the firearm. I guess the way I see it, if I paid for an outfitted hunt, I must have done so in order to have a shot a trophy, so last day of the hunt, a firearm is legal, a firearm is what I would have. |
RE: Would You
I wouldn't do a guaranteed kill hunt, but I'd darn sure take the rifle last day, maybe even the last couple of days,to give myself the best chance to get an animal. Thing is, a guided hunt would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Now, if it was something I could afford to go and do every year or two, that'd be an entirely different situation and would naturally change my answer.

RE: Would You
I don't blame anyone people for wanting to come home with something, and if they want to use a different weapon, great.
The point that I was trying to make in my last post pertains more to the disappointment/anger/frustration that some will have due to their expectations of a guided hunt. Not that I would ever do a guaranteed hunt, but if someone is on a mission, and absolutely has to come home with something, then I think a guaranteed hunt would be more suitable then a guided fair chase hunt. My friend and I try to do a trip (fair chase) every three years, sometimes guided, sometimes partially guided, sometimes unguided. But I have to say that when we go on these trips, we look at it more of a vacation then a mission. Being on a trip is much different then hunting with a starting point at home. None of the everyday worries. Where would I rather be, on some beach, or in the woods? ;) |
