Chuck Adams is the real deal to think otherwise is a mistake! He also is a very decent guy. I am in agreement with David on this.

Troy,
58,000 acres? Holy crap! And you aren't hunting there every year because? Thats the size of a small state for crying out loud! Is it Northwest Montana?

These shows are entertainment. When I want to learn something about hunting....I come here.

Put Paris Hilton in a camo bikini and sit her little ass in a dove field......and I'm watching even if she throws rocks.

It is what it is.

GMMAT has the best answer in this post LMAO
Paris Hilton? come on, can she even fill out a bikini? She has a figure like a fence post.
ROFLMAO.....
It takes alot of talent to put 4 guys in a tree with 3 cameras and a bow. It still amazes me.

He never takes film crews because they screw up a good hunt.

Bingo! Way too much to do...I'd rather not babysit! Thanks for thinking about me Tex!

Chuck...a legend!

DO you guys realize we have friends on HNI right now trying to do exactly what these guys everyone is slamming are already doing? Making at least a semi-career out of hunting.

Are you guys prepared 3 or 5 or 10 years down the road to call our friends at White Knuckle, or Heartland Bowhunter or Rut Junkies sell outs or wannabes or anyone can do that?

These people who have made it to where they are for the most part MADE it happen, they are living their dream. Some had financial backing or personal weath to make that happen, others busted their asses to get where they are, some I'm sure did both.
In any event I'm not sure any of us wouldn't trade places with at least 90% of them.
Some of them are outstanding hunters, maybe no better than some of our best hunters here but they made it happen for them.........so I say GOOD FOR THEM!

It's mostly entertainment but there is an underlying fact that many of these people are / were grass roots hunters who made it happen and are enjoying the fruits of their labors for all of us to see and loving what they are doing in the process. Good for Lee and Tiff, Good for Greg Miller, good for Mark and Terry Drury, good for Stan Potts, good for all of them.
Somebody has to pay the bills for these guys..........and I say remember this discussion when you are using Todd, and Hunsucker, and Joey and the other HNI friends names in the same breath as Drury, and Primos and HS.
Very good post. Perfectly points out part of the reason I hated to see a post by a Heartland BH staff member that said "Then again, he was also probably promoting a product he's never used and shooting it at an animal he knows nothing about." in reference to Adams. Wow...

All you guys throwing "heard this or that" about guys like Adams without proff sound ridiculous. I just went thru a little deal on another hunting board where someone decided to post that I "have to defend high fence hunting because he depends on it to fill his dvd's to sell." The guy that posted it "heard" that from another member of that board. Guess what? I have never been on a high fence hunt yet, and none of the Aim Low hunts have been filmed ona HF ranch, but yet it is no problem to make bogus posts like that.

A similar situation involving us, was a couple emails that flew all around the world about our record gar. They showed the gar and gave the credit to someone else, in a couple different locations. Actually got into a couple arguments where people told me or Keith that we didn't shoot that gar, someone they "knew" in OK did. Heck, an outfitter from LA even used a gar mount with our pic claiming it was the record taken by his client! At least Snopes.com straightened out our record gar rumors recently, LOL.

Here is my $.02 worth: Many shows are bogus with bogus hosts that can't shoot a darn, and obviously don't know squat. Others have hosts that earned and made their opportunities and deserve to be known as great hunters that get it done. Drurys, Primos, Gregory, etc come to mind. To say these guys don't do any scouting or whatever is just non-sense. And lets be honest...if they did a show on "your" public ground that is so hard to hunt...no one would watch, cause it would be boring! Why does it matter if they hunt ground you won't buy for yourself? No different than watching a movie with a pretty girl you know you will never get to meet, is it?

You guys that really, really hate the bad shows...Don'tturn the channel, contact the shows sponsorsand tell them. The networks don't care. The only wayto be heard is thru the show's sponsors. The bad shows are just good at convincing sponsors they aregood shows, that is all there is to it. I can tell you first hand how disappointing it is to have sponsors tell me"no" because a bogus show was a better bs'er than me.

Long story my friend including the death of my brothers daughter on that very ranch... Long long story and not fit for open forums, out of respect for all parties that were involved.

I thought Chuck Adams shot fingers, maybe he switched!!??
Not according to the picture in Bowhunting World this month. Still using a tab.

Then again, he was also probably promoting a product he's never used and shooting it at an animal he knows nothing about.
You tell me a celebrity that doesn't endorse products they don't use, they all do!! Get real.
I know a little about the industry and I assure you that the celebrities are using products from their sponsors. They are obligated to do so and if they do not, they would lose their sponsors and no longer have a show. They may not believe that the products are the best, but they do use them, they have to.

On another note, this is true of other sponsor based activities too. Look at Nascar. Dale Jr. couldn't drink anything but Bud for an alcoholic beverage while they sponsored him. He cannot drive anything but Chevy. It's all part of the game.

I can only comment about the guys Ive personaly met. Take Bob Foulkrod for instance. Ive met him a few times over the years, butthe guy came into our booth, hung out with us for a bit, took some pics, and was even nice enough to sign autographs for people. Even though we are a nobody to him, he was kind enough to come over and just say hey. We will never be able to sponsor him at his level and Im sure he knows that, he was just being a good guy. I also met Larry Wieshun who also seemed like a really good guy. He hung out for a few minutes, talked to us about how he really liked the simplicity of our pattern, and just taked about general BS. I also met Chuck Adams, again, he seemd like a good guy just shot the %$@ with us for a bit a few times at one of the shows. Im sure they all have their grumpy moments or whatever, as we all do, but the celebrities Ive met have all be real gentelman and good representatives of the hunting industry. Im sure its not always fun and games, they probably have alot of pressure on them to always produce good footage, get quality animals on video and in their sights, and to always "do the right thing" being as they are somewhat in the spotlight. I bet some of these pressures are already being noticed by Mike and Todd.
