Serving them in is about the only option...

Do you know how to tie a half hitch?

Step 1 - Take a piece of serving material or dental floss about 12" in length and fold it in half creating a loop. Lay this on the opposite side of your string.

Step 2 - Fold the loop over the string towards you.

Step 3 - Pass the two end pieces of the serving through the loop.

Step 4 - Pull the two end pieces towards you, closing the loop over the top of the string. Pull the serving left and right in order to snug the knot into itself.

Step 5 - Using the two end pieces of serving, create another loop.

Step 6 - Fold the two end pieces over the top of the string and through the loop. Pull snug.

Step 7 - You can finish it up by tying a regular not over the top of the half hitches using the remaining portion of serving.

Do this above and below your string silencers and you should be golden. Just a quick write up, hope it helps.
