found some good rubs while shedding (pics)
Well im still nill on the sheds this year, the toughest year ever, but i happened upon some promising rubs that may tell the tale of a good buck in the area that survived EHD 
.
Bad thing is, this is a young woods and hardly a worthy tree anywhere, and i hate hunting from the ground [8D]Just trying to break the post season boredome
first one i ran into and a smaller one in the background. i love deep gouges, not huge but still promising.

He hit this one so hard it broke the tree [8D][&:]

Nice rubs Blood. No sheds though .. huh. I went nearly 40 hours[&:] on foot this year before finding 2 matched sets in less than 5 minutes earlier this week. You just gotta keep walking...
Alot of bucks still carrying. But they are really starting to drop here in northern Illinois. I expect some good outings for me in the future.

DUKE. Oh man do i know about the leg work and shed hunting, i usually shed some pounds doing it my son has found two so far. i remember the ones you found, nice buck 
last year was a good one for us, we normaly find just one side, last season it was three sets and some straglers. 40 hrs is alot of walking, but if your like me, i double the shed hunting with scouting to, i find my best areas this way. good luck to you as well.

Nice rubs Dan. I scouted some land around Jefferson Proving grounds last weekend and also found several impressive rubs. Saw 2 mature bucks with their racks still on also.
